ha - surfers are dumb, webmasters are even dumber. i see webmasters on here oohing and aahing over new paysites the programs bring out that are all licensed DVD content that in total costs the same as one exclusive shoot. go get a good designer and slap another piece of shit disguised as something better - and the truth is the majority of surfers are still morons so those sites still convert and make PPS programs money. so why should they stop - i know alot of programs tried doing exclusive content sites and they told me it just didn't make enough of a difference to justify the costs. most of them don't have any experience in production and really don't have a feel for what makes good entertainment or porn so their exclusive content sites are weak and dont produce much better than their licensed content sites.

IF you're going to do an exclusive content site you really need to find somebody to shoot it or shoot it yourself in a way that you want it - the Bangbros and Nasty success is that they shoot their stuff THEIR way. outsourcing exclusive content production is tricky. just because it's exclusive doesn't make it good.

Well the best way I see it is to start with DVD content then make the change over to exclusive once you feel you can afford it. Keeping sites updated with Exclusive content doesnt come cheap. The reason exclusive content is the way to go still is because in the long run you do make more money. With exclusive content, that will bring in the webmasters who will promote your content/sites. Also with EC you have the right to do whatever you want with the content. Feeds/DVD's PPV etc etc.

Our sites have a mix but we have tons of exclusive we shoot weekly in-house to save cost. this year we have shot about 70 girls

I produce exclusive content, and have been doing so for going on 7 years, so it pisses me off when these corporate sites crank out web sites left and right, using mostly non-exclusive content, and then claim that their site is "exclusive" when maybe only a small percentage or just the content in their tour is original exclusive content (if even that).

Yes, they indeed think the surfer is dumb, but actually what happens, is that after a few such bad experiences with rip-off sites like that, even dumb surfers get smart and are hesitant to join sites which actually pay the extra expense of shooting exclusive content. The rip off companies don't care how much this hurts the industry overall since they still get a good return on their small investment. Such companies are bottom feeders and a disgrace to the industry.

Unfortunately, I don't expect the situation to change since there are so many corrupt business people in this industry, only out for the quick buck with their fake exclusive sites, fake datings sites, shaving, and such.

Instead I have developed tactical marketing strategies which allow me to stand out from the pack and attract and still convert loyal customers, not by ripping off consumers, but by delivering a quality product.

I just got back from a long weekend of shooting, and I have lots of new content - as long as I can parlay that into profits, it helps me to disregard the shady people in the biz...

well i've been looking at the licensed DVD's lately and there are some decent ones these days but you really have to research them and cherry pick - i joined one of the big DVD download sites with over 1000 licensed DVD's to see what was out there and 90% of them were junk.

and when you decide to go for exclusive content you really have to look for somebody who can shoot the quality you want - the problem comes when programs want Evil Angel quality at a bottom feeder price - quality always costs.

I agree with a lot of things you said! If you can't be at the source of the content, you better find yourself some producers who are willing to work on what you truly want because you know what sells on your traffic! I've been working closely with our producers, even if they are far away, and I must say it's not an easy task but it is manageable. As long as you have some reliable producers who are willing to work with you on improving every single aspect of the content and are willing to take constructive criticism!

You think it's hard to get good exclusive content - try getting it for a "difficult" niche.

(Lighting and other model requirements for us are completely different than for most shoots - finding people who can and want to do it is a full-time struggle).

what are the retention ratio for non exclusive sites compared to exclusive ?

i think (guess) a lot of the exclusive sites have members for years, wheras non-exclusive sites have surfers looking for a quick peek.

exclusive sites address the request for fresh "niche" type content.

I shoot exclusive only and work closely with the webmasters to capture the type of content he/she is looking for. this includes the type of model, wardrobe, location and the action itself.
