XXXCash, please reply concerning spamming affiliates

I just got an email with the following headers (my domain filtered to prevent it from being harvested:

Clearly, because it's xxxcash@(my domain).com, it is unlikely to be randomly picked out of a hat. This email was used only to register with your program.

Did you sell this list, did an employee steal it, did you get hacked, or is it in the TOS that you'll sell/share my name with other companies?

I don't care either way, really.

Here's the fucked up part: why spam Celebrity Cash to your XXX Cash affiliates?

XXXCash converts at 1:200 *raw* for me, and rebills like a MOTHERFUCK -- I have more REBILLS than I do SALES for some months, it's nuts.

But fuck, if they're going to spam me ........ I can always find someone else.

every major company keeps their surfer list & webmaster list seperate

chances are your e-mail was retrieved by a hack, exploit, or pop3 dos style collection device

i swear, how is it that smart, successful people can also be so stupid?

But wait! "chances are your e-mail was retrieved by a hack, exploit, or pop3 dos style collection device" .. remember?

To me, it's too large of a coincidence that I get spammed by the other program they have.

I'd like to hear it from them -- and the only reason I made a thread was to see who ELSE may have gotten spammed. So thanks for replying.

YARGH! It be a shortened version of ReSeller ID. I know this because I haxored the list and I'm spammin' me sharkyfarts site as well as a "friend's" cash program like a retarded pig on acid.

If you get an email from Bob the Turkey Baster or Jerry The Hat Maker you should disregard.

AHOY! ya FAG

I got those emails, and jerked off to them.

Ok, I know I've said this in tickets, in ICQs, and on the phone about 5 times, but let me say it here:

I'm going to SLEEP!

well i hate to be the voice of reason but it is possible thats a generated name.. spammers arent stupid.. once they find a prefix of an email that shows up many times on multiple domains they will add that as a default ( i.e. [email protected] ). BUT the chances of you and darkjedi both getting the same email to the same prefix would be suprising.. if your email was [email protected] i would be alot more suspicious

i agree with that one there...a spammers operation is pretty much automated anymore, and their bots learn very quickly

luckily I have spam filters, so I don't get much of that shit into my inbox

except for that stock tips shit, I get that shit all the time, anyone have any good tricks for filters on that?

lol, I thought you were KIDDING with your last post ... now it looks like you really believe it's just a coincidence that one program's affiliate list got spammed with ads from the other program they own.

okie dokie then.

Whoever's affiliate ID that is knows the answer. Maybe the guys at XXXCash can shed some light on it.

i'm not a spammer but i think i can answer that for you..

When the internet and email spam first began there werent as many email adress so it was kind of mandatory you had a list.. as more and more people got email addys it was easier just to assume and address existied such as [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] , obviously this method into to tricky simply get a baby name list and add @popularemailprovider.com tot he end of them. bam you have a huge email address.. this progressed of course into [email protected] so the spammer send an email to [email protected] [email protected] [email protected] etc for every exisiting domain.. now this is all fed from a list of keywords associated with common email prefixes.. now in order to have a really good list you will cross reference existing email addy's ytou have harvested into common prefixes.. so for example , if the program spots 5 identical prefixes such as XXXCASH at different domains it can assume this is a commonly used prefix , thus anyone with xxxcash@anydomain is likely to have gotten the same message..

Now of course all above is pure speculation , it could be internal as well but theres a high likelyhood what i mentioned above is happening as the prefix XXXCASH isnt impossibly unique as [email protected]

Agreed 100%. That's why I use random strings as the suffix as well. I won't post what the actual email was (I use xxxcash@xxxxxxxxxx as a mask), but I learned long ago it has to have a bit of randomness to catch this sort of activity.

Most sponsors are something like [email protected].

Exactly.

Amazing how fast webmasters are to blame a sponsor for selling their address.

If a program were to sell such a list, I'd love to see them outed here
