50 fools funding the continual growth of multi-billion dollar casinos that are obviously doing something right.

Something tells me...like the poker player who's favorite hand is 9/3 offsuit...he has selective memory...only recalling the times he won hitting on a 14 or 15...and not recalling the times he lost...which more than likely he did.

living a little and the delusional claim that you have a solid grasp of statistical probability and outcomes based on your firm understanding of "lucky streaks" are hardly the same.

Vegas i a tourist town... I would imagine a high percentage of players haven't a clue about the games and play just for the experience..

I think getting out of the tourist district, and going where the residents go would be where you stand a better change at winning..

Wrong. :2 cents:

I'll purposely lose a hand if I don't like the guys at the table or if I need a couple seats for some buddies and it's really busy. It clears the table right away and I can get seats for my buddies alone. Then we play "the right way"...LOL

I love guys like you who get all bent out of shape about it, makes my night.

no, you gamble because you enjoy gambling, and you are expecting to lose

if you win, all the better

He's saying he only plays with money he's willing to lose and he doesn't sit at the edge of the table screaming for the right card. He likes the thrill of the possibility of hitting, but won't be upset if he doesn't.

Last weekend I had some friends over to play poker. I lost a few but I tell ya what, it was a very fun 4 hours with friends.

I have seen some guys get real pissed when people at the table don't stick to basic blackjack strategy.

I found that statistically sticking with the basic strategy I do win more but there are times when you make a gut play. If other people don't like it at the table tough shit.

its a 8 deck shoe, every card in itself is a statistical challenge, REGARDLESS of how other people play around you.

That's when blackjack becomes a problem, when you believe in all the little theories of how "good shoes and bad shoes come in pairs", or "you lost because of the guy before you". Give me a break

play your own cards, it makes NO difference how many people are sitting down, how stupid they play, if they double when they have a 20 and the dealer is showing a 6 or not.

The only way to win is for YOU to play strictly by the book, and not let any feelings and emotions get involved. The game is pure statistics and odds, nothing else to do with anything else. :thumbsup

can anyone disprove this? if so, i would like to hear the theory behind it, i have heard how other play affects your outcome, but have never understood why. perhaps the number of decks in the shoot makes a difference
