Plasma has a better contrast and black color plus bigger sizes, while LCD has a better resolution, is cheaper and lasts longer ... I'd go with LCD.

DLP and LCD have less long term problems, but the picture of course, isn't as good..........and plasma is way more expensive. Until they solve the problems such as burn in, I'd go with DLP and LCD for long term use.

Plasma: Picture quality, cheaper as size gets bigger (when compared to larger LCD screens). Will be slowly phased out by SED TV's in the near future.

LCD: Cheaper on smaller screens, longer longevity. Newer LCD's with LED backlighting also have the added advantage of being near-plasma in terms of picture quality.

plasma TV's have a limited lifespan. I hear nothing but good things about the new DLT TV's.

if you won't be watching your tv at an angle, only straight ahead, then go with lcd.

I like Plasmas more than LCD's. But don't buy the cheapest one. Pioneer's are very good when it comes to picture quality.

Unless you are looking for cool points or trying to cram it into a small space, I would go with rear projection or microdisplay. Costs less, great image quality, and lasts longer. No latency problems either.

LCD is better.. because it is lighter and it last much longer than PLASMA

LCD has a better refresh rate which produces better pictures go with PHILLIPS they have the best refresh rate in the market for the price... try to get them to show u what happen when u r watching something moving in the screen

I read an article comparing Plsama with LCD on couple of points and the author was in favour of LCD, so I'd say LCD, the dude sounded like he knew what he was writing about ;)

lcd is sharper and a got lcd like from samsung can be watch from every angle they ate hd ready. PLease much better colors and color correction, do you want to me to go on. All these things you don't find with plasma. O yeah, you can sit closer to a lcd then plasma because it won't start to look all fuzzy when you are sitting close to lcd. So go for a lcd. i had them both and now i got 4 plasma screens and i am happy, very happy.

yap, i got 56" samsung dlp and its awsome.... if you don't need to put your tv on the wall, i recommend you to go check out DLP Tv's.. i went to a store that had lcd/dlp/plasma side by side, with same dvd playing on all of them, and dlp looked the best, I just didn't see any point in spending much more $ for almost same performance UNLESS you need to put it ont he wall
