    Just shot with the FX1

    And I don t like it .. not one bit ...

    first off I didnt like the focus, the ring is way to far from the Iris control for my liking .. I also didnt like the LCD monitor, I didnt find it sharp enough to get good focus. I found the auto focus to be slow and slightly off ... However I did like how the Iris responded to dramatic changes. All in all I give it a 6 out of 10 ... Next up the Z1U I suspect it will react the same way as the Fx1 .. Oh another thing I didn t like about the FX1: no contriol over your gamma s, Black stretch .

              The FX1 and the Z1U don't really compare IMO. I love my Z1U despite its flaws.

                  I think you'll like the Z1U, it's definitely superior to the FX1, but of course doesn't perform as well as the big ones. We used to shoot with Sony DSR300 and even though they are much older they are a whole lot better than the Z1U.

                              Lots of peeps have contacted me about this thread ..it's pretty informative ..

                              I wasn't shooting the FX1 cus it's cheap nor am I looking for a cheap HDV If I did then I'd go for a JVC ...LOL
                              I'm looking for the right camera for the job. I shoot hundreds of hours of porn a month, Lots of Gonzo and some Pro. I found the FX1 to be too bulky for the Gonzo. And I also found the focus to be too soft for Pro.

                              Next up will be the P2 followed by the H1 Canon (i'd like the A1 but there aren't any in montreal yet. the H1 has the same chip set, and body size, though this little cam is over the 10,000$ mark)

                                  I'm going to be shooting reality stuff and honestly, I want a camera that does it all for me. I used to own an escort agency and shot all my girl's pics. I had a Nikon D1X with a few good lenses and a high end Nikon strobe. The lenses had that amazing Nikon auto-focus and the strobe did it's own work too.

                                  I'm not a technical guy...but with that setup, I couldn't take bad pics. I'm looking for the same advantage in a video camera.
