TIVO/RePlay TV

Anyone own a DVR ? What kind do you have if so ? I'm thinking of getting one but would prefer to hear which one is better by people who are already using them. I don't watch a lot of TV, so what I'm looking for is something to automatically record shows I like and when I want to watch them I can just turn it on.

but now i own a Ultimate TV and i can tell you its twice as fast and i love the Dual tuner record or watch two shows at once,

DVR are like VCR's on steroids, if you ask me there the best thing invented since the internet and i can't imagine watching TV without one

I recently got the new Tivo2 with my ARS points. I love it.

I used to miss all the good TV shows because I work so much. Not anymore:-)

Great question Brujah. I have been thinking the same thing. I know that one of them can automatically get rid of all the commercials, so that when you watch the show it is just straight show with zero interruptions. Does anyone know which one that is?

That is the one I want. I fucking hate commercials. Imagine a device that totally removes TV comemrcials from your life. If you watch much TV, I'll bet over a lifetime that will save you like 2 years of your life you can do something else with!

Whichever one is is that nukes the commercials, some of the big TV companies sued to try and stop it, but so far they have failed. Also, one of the devices you have to pay a monthly fee to use also. I'm thinking it is Tivo.

Tivo is 99 a year.

I would pay 500 a year for it and not complain.

Replay fucking rules man.. and there is no monthly fee... as far as commercials... it has this skip function where you skip through 30 seconds... so hit it like 5 times and your back to the show...

Here's the one I was thinking of:

http://www.replay.com/video/replaytv/default.asp

Has an option that automatically totally eliminates commercials from your shows. Or you can manually do the 30 second skips too. Kickass. I hate commercials.

You want a two channel one. I have Ultimate TV, but the $9.95 a month sucks and it's s-l-o-w. At my Tahoe house, I have DISH Network PVR, very nice and no monthly fee, but just 1 channel.

Hey lensman, I'm looking for the sig rules now. I had read them before, I thought I was completely clean. I'll go over it and fix whatever I did wrong. Sorry for the inconvenience.

On the Ultimate TV, I have a friend who has it and he swears by it, but I'm thinking more of just getting a replay tv device.

Nothing wrong with it, we just forget to set it.
