They have pre installed spyware that sends your fingerprints to a data base for future use...... be careful!

Keep the USB drive on your keychain... Apacer makes a real good one for that.

      http://www.apacer.com/en/products/Handy_Steno_HT202.htm

I sell them in my store all the time; never had a single one come back. The cap is attached through that twisted steel wire, also, so you never lose it.

      It's great.

The thing with the biometric USB drive is that if the biometric function ever fails, you're done for.

Microsoft released one that could be hacked becuase it didn't use encryption. I'd like to have one of these things. Does anyone know one that has a high level of security?

Make sure it's good. The biometric reader on my Toshiba laptop sucks.

many countries have serious laws about transporting data in and out of the country with strong encryption. i haven't paid much attention to it in recent years and do dont claim to know anything about it, but i do know that it wasn't too long ago that there were legal limits everywhere. i remember a time when a version of Windows had its launch delayed in Russia because it had 128 bit encryption and they did not allow anything beyond 48 bit encryption (or something like that).

In fact, this is the reason PGP itself was forced out of the US (the creators as well)... the government came after them because they were breaking the law. its just something to consider is your main reason is "travel" - you have to comply with the laws of the country you are visiting. ... you can find yourself is serious violation of export laws, espionage etc.

                            Use stegonographie

( encrypt your files and hide them in a fully functional music file or a picture)
so noone will know there are encrypted files on that usb.

                            I suggest Drivecrypt for that:

                            6. Hide data into music files ( Steganography ยป read more)
Using special so called "Steganographic" functionalities, DRIVECRYPT allows you to hide all your sensitive information into music files. Just authorized users will be able to access secret information, anyone else will only find harmless music on the computer?
