Robots that can kill

It's heavily-armed, has no conscience and if it doesn't like what you're doing it can kill you.

Korean researchers have unveiled a robot security guard capable of killing human beings who get too close to sensitive areas or can't produce a correct password when questioned.

BFD... I bet you give any bunch of computer and robot geeks the parts and they could build one too.

Hey... Why don't we put one of these every 500 yards along the Mexican border. Forget the fence....

Lord Archiot is pleased. We are now one step closer to technological enlightenment and robosapien superiority.

Read that on slashdot the other day - manned / unmanned remote sentry capable of targeting moving targets and firing unflinching rounds at it....

If I was near a border, where a bordering country would possibly have dangerous and unwanted people coming without approval, it's a nice defense.... BTW - Doest it speak Mexican?....

Sorry, I couldn't resist. Even though the difference between N & S Korea and US & Mexico will go completely over many people's heads, it was just a bad call that I refuse to delete.

*shrug*

Isn't it weird that we watch things like this in movies when we're young, then as we grow up, have to discover that it's becoming reality? Scary...

The article said Samsung, HQ in Seoul, S. Korea, built it for their border with the north.

See, it isn't so bad when they make these things as emplacement guns with limited arcs of fire. The problem is when they make them mobile and self aware... Then we are in trouble!
