I think the best way to do it is to make a rule that you need to send atleast some traffic, like 250 hits a day to the sponsor to claim your prizes.

Make that a rule and all the bots, surfers, fake nicks bits and pieces will disappear in a hurry.

It would be worse if they would ask for sales.
The sponsor where I'm sending traffic now has 1:5000 ratio :Oh crap :1orglaugh

That's a good idea but I think that 250 clicks per day is way to much for some smaller webmasters like me. I'm promoting 30 sponsors actively at the moment and I can not send 250 unique clicks daily to each of them yet. Something like a 100 or 150 clicks per day would be enough.

1:5000 ouch :Oh crap

I have always been 1:1500- 1:2000 across all kinds of traffic sources.

Bax the main point is that sponsors must be sure that the guy posting in contests is a genuine webmaster, thats it. Even if you send 100 clicks a day to a sponsor, thats 3K a month, should translate into 2-3 signups.

That's also try. I can not be totally responsible for converting the traffic. For example my ratio for ImLive is 0:4649. Half of that traffic is from blogs.

Dejan 12-07-2006 05:29 AM

I can't send 250 hit's a day...
I've just done one gall for 6buck niche and I submit here with CS.
Without PA I think I'm having around 5-6 hit's
Of course when I do more galls I would probably send more hit's but 250 is to much...

Sponsors are making the big mistake by not checking the new webmasters who are signing up especially when that sponsor is having a contest here. Almost everyone (webmaster or surfer) can sign up now easily. Sponsors are not even checking the website URLs anymore. I remember when I was signing up to TopBucks at the beginning of last year (2005.) I had to give them almost every possible information about my work. They were asking for domains, example galleries/freesites, traffic sources, all my personal inofs, etc. We (me and TB Laurie) were chatting on ICQ for almost half of hour and at the end I though she will be asking my underwear size also :1orglaugh .
