It’s clearly not a clear cut answer. I believe that there are some who are ‘born gay’, while others choose to adopt the lifestyle due to psychological/other factors down the line. To say that all gay people are born gay is just ridiculous, just like it is ridiculous to say that all gay people choose to be gay.

or a logical and scientfic explanation to this problem is that everyone is bisexual to an extent.

ding ding, we have a winner.

that is scientific fact.

Bullshit. It sounds to me like you're trying to make yourself feel better for your own homosexual tendencies.

I never once had the thought, inclination or desire to be with another guy, the act to me is sickening, and no I am not homophobic. I have known quite a few gay people in my 40 years on this planet and I actually respect them more so than the average person because I know what they must go through. To think its a choice for someone to be gay is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I didnt choose to be straight anymore than someone chose to be gay.

Having said that I believe there are various factors involved. A truly gay person I have no doubt was born that way. People that are confused about their sexuality and/or bisexual people could have also been born that way but more likely it is due to environment, such as being sexually, physically or mentally abused as a child.

I swear I'm only going to post in 'would you hit it" threads from now on. :1orglaugh

I think common sense will tell you that the percentage of females with DS who reproduce, are astronomically low. The point I was trying to make is that not everything is "passed down" directly from a parent. I honestly wasn't trying to bring Down Syndrome into this. I wish to god I would have left it out, now.

I was also prepared to call you a liar about your story, but I will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that maybe you are lumping "mental retardation" in general in with DS, and you don't know the true diagnosis of your neighbors. Males with DS are basically sterile. I think there have been one or two reported cases of a male with DS being able to reproduce, but I highly doubt either was the guy living next to you. Females also have decreased fertility and even though some can/will get preggo, there aren't an abundance of cases of babies being born to DS mothers, either. Maybe you lucked out and hit the DS reproduction lotto in your hood, lol.
