More than one ICQ?

Well the much anticipated event has finally arrived. I'm finally going to put ICQ on my laptop. I'm wondering how you guys do it on more than one computer. Should I use my same main ICQ # on the laptop also, or use a totally different ICQ # for that.

Opinions?

I have a revolutionary idea.

Use the same one on both.

Feel like you'll be cheating on your desktop if you use the same ICQ # with a different computer?

I'm wondering if there is any software to synchronize your Laptop and PC ICQ so you have the same contacts and history on both.
If anyone knows, please post the URL.

Use more than one ICQ number. Otherwise you'll have these problems:

- if you authorize sometone, you'll have to re-auth. them on the other computer, and it wont make sense to this other person who believes they have already auth. you (which they have)

- if you ask a ques, you may get your answer on another computer, and you'll go into your history to see what it was you asked, and it wont be there

- tons of others that i cant think of

Ever seen the software that allows you to run multiple ICQ"S at once ? Pretty cool shit - it's good to use too coz otherwise you'd have to tell everyone on your contact list your new ICQ also and they will porbably get too confused

actually if you have the new version of icq then it has a main DB for your contacts so you wont have any problems with having icq on 2 comps...

That's quite true, DjSap, although I have never tried it, yet. I once lost my entire contact list trying out a new version of an ICQ...

I think that the ICQ servers cut you off after so many contacts in your list.

I haven't been able to add anyone to my ICQ list for over a week.

Mind you I probably have about 600 in my list right now.

icq allows only 600 contacts on list.you can give trillian a try that way you can connect to 2 icq's at a time one by trillian and another by icq or you can connect to both by trillian(never tried it though)

but you will still have the problem of history in case you guys find a solution plz let me know
