I am absolutely a scrooge. I admit that fully. But I do put on a happy face and pretend for the kids, they have fun and you are right that is all that matters. But inside I'm thinking what a big pain in the ass it all is!

Oh well I actually like the holiday and I do not go with the religious symbolism of it myself. I love the smells, the food, the get together s, and buying and or making gifts for others. I enjoy putting up and decorating the tree's, I like making the house feel all festive. I have fun finding new ornaments that I am collecting for my future kids one day.

I do not much care for the shopping, but that is just due to the crowds.

OK, I will admit that I have the first five star trek ornaments (along with the counter display for #2)...but I didn't buy them!

the big problem I have is they keep pushing it earlier and earlier in the year.

I remember a few years ago I was involved in a lawsuit with an attorney that was a very well-known figure, and was primarily known because he was an athiest (he has sued the BSA for making his son use the "G" word in the oath).

I wanted to have a deposition a week or so before Christmas, and he refused to do it because it was Christmas. I couldn't believe it. A devout athiest that was celebrating the birth of Christ.

I gave him so much shit about that.

I hate christmas when I have no money...let's wait for it to come and I'll say the outcome:)
