Before the host mother would allow her to use the washer to wash her clothes, she would smell her socks and underwear, and if it passed her smell test, she was not allowed to wash her clothes.

I saw a show on Belize the other day. It looks like a great place, too. I read the State Dept. report on it and compared it to Mexico, and the report on Mexico seemed far worse.

I will give you several answers as to why Vietnam eventually fell to the Vietcong and the NVA.

First, we couldnt pursue the cong into Thailand and other regions, if we could have, many more of them would have died.

Two, unpopular war. If we would have had the backing of the American people, we wouldnt have been so hasty to pull out.

Three, have you see the numbers on how many VC and NVA died in comparison to US soldiers? Going on body count, we destroyed them.

Four, the Tet Offensive was the last ditch attempt by the NVA and VC. Of the main 5 points of attack by the VC, they only managed to take one of them... maybe two. BUT, they managed to take the only one that really mattered. Saigon.

In every other instance, they were beaten.

Even VC and NVA officers to this day will say that after Tet, they had nothing left. They were done. The war was basically over after Tet.

But we had already lost it where the war really counted, that being at home.

And you mean to tell me that with a few tactical nukes, we couldnt have eliminated the North Vietnamese threat entirly?
