IMPRESSED!!! Got my new MacBook laptop

i finally did it....went today to pickup a macbook...messing around with it now. So cool but have to learn so much....

only bad thing is i am so use to windows.....this is gonna take a lot of adjusting....

is safari the only web browser i can use? can i use AIM or only ichat lol....would sabve me some time if anyone knows...

would appreciate any tips by the way....thnx

No Safari is not the only browser. You can use firefox, camino, etc...

You can use your AIM account on iChat.

thanks, will install firefox. unless safari is better for mac??? i just dont like safari cuz i dont know how to open multiple tabs like firfox and jump around....can u do that???

Well, you can open multiple websites all at once in tabs if they are bookmarked in the same folder. Command-Clicking a link or bookmark will open it in a new tab. Command-Clicking a folder in your bookmark bar will open all the sites inside that folder in tabs.

congrats on the switch...i think i need to update my ibook soon...

for FTP use yummy ftp....for IM use Adium...for torrents use Transmission

Some people prefer safari but firefox is better if you are used to the extensions.

Yes Safari is good and fast but i like them both: Safari and Firefox. Cool apps: Transmit (FTP), Dragthing and more here: Cool OSX Apps

If you think your laptop monitor is great try the Apple 30". It's amazing. I believe most high end Apple laptops can run a 30". I've got a few of them here including one connected to my laptop.

Congrats, you just got the best OS ever and you wont ever go back to winshit unless you're forced.

Stick with Safari, in the end it's a little better than Firefox. Use apple+t to open new tabs. Everything you used to do with ctrl, do with the apple button. Enjoy.

Safari is ok... but Firefox works, too, if you like it better.

But if you're designing websites, you really are better off on a PC... or you at least have to check your stuff on a PC if you code it on the mac.

There can be big differences between a page as seen on Mac versus a PC.
