The fact that these kinds of debates happen is unbelievable. Nations are made up things. They're linguistic constructions, well-pointed out by the subtle differences in meaning between the two languages. Quebec is not a thing, and neither is the United States, or Latvia. As somebody who recently moved to canada I don't see how rational people could live in a bilingual society. Having all products and ads in both languages has to be the stupidest idea ever. To top it off the french that is spoken sounds like shit to real frenchies so the bilingual part is not really useful externally.

Call it a nation, make English the only official language and make French (if you can call it that) optional in school.

I love Quebec but some there have a weird view of independance.
