He seems lost, and powerless, and as if he was being persecuted and nothing was done about it.

Seems the victim turned into the assailant. Seems the authorities did nothing to stop this.

In the UK there are numerous cases of children being bullied and the schools deny it's happening or do little to nothing to stop it. Until it explodes like this one, well not exactly usually the victim commits suicide.

Just a thought does it look like he was on drugs? Paranoia from drug taking could be a factor.

Pity is it's too late now to know for sure.
