Now here's a good reason for 1 of your famous Sig Actions. I'm sure GFY can
raise a nice starter on this baby for a webmaster from of our own community.

:2 cents:

viki 11-22-2006 06:39 AM

I saw someone using one of those at a flea market or something very similar and wondered if it was used for stair climbing. Looks pretty amazing.

HorseShit 11-22-2006 07:45 AM

that thing would do a great job running over people at shows, I say get

Matt 26z 11-22-2006 08:26 AM

Governments should provide stuff like this for free.

I agree.

Indecent 11-22-2006 08:32 AM

Steven Cobert had one on his show the other day... freaking amazing. He hadn't ever used it, and he was able to easily elevate himself, and then drive a wheelie across the room.

He actually interviewed the guy who invented it, and man.. talk about brains.

Actually, it's not a wheelie per se. The thing was invented by the people who made the Segway, so it's gyro balanced or some shit. Supposedly, you can't even push that thing over when it's up on the back wheels.

Pretty badass piece of equipment too. Went up steps with no problems, very functional.

HAPPYPEEKERS 11-22-2006 09:09 AM

Good Luck.. I sure hope you get it!

ServerGenius 11-22-2006 11:20 AM

bump for a sig action to help out ASM, it's close to christmas lets help out
a webmaster a bit who could really use it. My postcount isn't high enough to
setup a fundraise thread that everyone will read.....but if someone starts it
I'll chip in a some cash.

We raise so much money for all kinds of stuff now we
can help someone of our own.....come on people imagine the what this will
do to a fellow webmaster his life. Just try to imagine for 2 seconds what it will
be like having to depend on a wheelchair.....multiply that by 100 and you might
be close that what it's really like. I've been in a wheelchair for 8 months myself
and that was already really bad.....not the wheelchair itself but the fact that
you need somebody to help with the simplest things in life.......things you
take for granted and never think about.....

if we all chip in a few coins we can
give a person a great deal of freedom and indepence back.....even if we just
raise a bit.....it will help out more than you can ever realise.

So who steps up the plate and organise a sig auction or whatever to get this
going?

:thumbsup

Aan_Missy 11-22-2006 11:40 AM

That is an awesome piece of machinery! I hope you can get one!

Yanto 11-22-2006 12:10 PM

This is another Craze after PS3...
now which sponsor willing to giveaway one for free? lol

After Shock Media 11-22-2006 04:15 PM

You all are very kind with your thoughts and desired actions. When I spoke of sponsorship I was jesting, I would never expect such a thing.
The ideas also of a sig auction or something along those lines was also a thoughtful gesture, I however am great at giving and terrible at accepting things. Aside from a few small items around the house and some clothes, I can not think of anything I did not buy myself either outright or by scrimping, saving, and earning.

Also keep in mind to use it per the required physical specs. I will also need to amputate a leg. Since my left leg has a tendency to want to straighten out and not stay bent. This to me is not a real issue, removing a limb or maybe both so I match is not hard choice. I would in a heart beat, it just will be an added expense I will need to cover.

Nobody ever assured anyone life is fair nor fun. Some of us are dealt face cards and some of us get the off numbers. I have always been willing to play my hand and take whatever is dealt next. I am far from jealous at those who got a fist full of ace's. I find the game more fun when your dealt crap and still are sitting there competing against the rest.

Peaches 11-22-2006 04:19 PM

If you amputate a leg (or both!!) you're not going to be able to walk!

THINK, MAN, THINK!

Geeze - sometimes I wonder about you guys.......

_Richard_ 11-22-2006 04:20 PM

It goes up stairs? Wow.. i hope you get it ASM!

Sweetest ride in town :)

Not sure but would not be surprised if they were behind it. They have invented some crazy medical shit over the last few years.

From the video i just saw, the cost mentioned was $26,000.

What an incredible chair for the disabled. Should help out a lot of people. And i'm really glad to know if something ever happens to myself or my family (knock on wood), there are incredible solutions like this that exists.

But watching those guys sitting up on two wheels....wow..how the hell does it balance? And watching it climb stairs is amazing.

ASM, the mentioned they work very closely with insurance. Not sure what your situation is, but it might be an avenue worth checking out. Can't hurt to give them a call.
Good luck!

If Allah, Jesus, Buddha, Mohammad, God, Shiva, and or any other Deity suddenly appeared in the boat and offered to drive it while pulling me safely across the lake to an awaiting crowd of the most amazingly gorgeous horny cheerleader/gymnast who were all STD free, unable to get knocked up and wanting it bareback in every orifice available. While a squadron of butlers had cold beer, perfect steaks, and hand fulls of Viagra at my beck and call.
You still would not find me being pulled by another boat again ever.

starpimps 11-22-2006 04:40 PM

wow thats one nice piece of mobile equipment
hopefully you can get one bro it seems amazing

Me, insurance :1orglaugh

Sorry, gut instinct. Not a veteran, private insurance dropped my ass cold when I was eleven, and none will cover me again unless I agree to not cover pre existing conditions or anything stemming from or related to it, i.e. everything.
Well I am sure some company out there would offer it, just with premium that would kill the typical person and a deductible that would cost more than most vehicles.
