I understand hinduism's application of marijuana use. so don't go pointing me to fucking wiki. i've read endlessly on the subjects of both religion and marijuana use, and marijuana use and religion combined! oh boy! while i agree with the teachings of some key concepts involved in hinduism (karma, dharma), i can't look at you with any more credibility than someone practicing, say, catholicism. i have to admit that i do place hinduism above alot of other religions in the religious pecking order, but that doesn't stray from the fact that most every organized religion is a crock of shit. hell, if you're going to quote any religion in support of drug use, i'd say that the values held in laveyan satanism (if you want to call satanism a religion or not is debatable i guess) provide the most logical support. in conclusion, go fuck yourself, god is dead and you are next...

i think its funny that anyone would use religion as a defense for drug use though. yes hindu's use marijuana for its entheogenic properties, and believe it was a gift from the shiva or however the story goes (i'm not THAT knowledgable on the topic). but come on, hinduism isn't the only religion to has used entheogenic substances for religious practices. thousands of years ago people didn't know any better than the explain the effects these substances had on them, than to claim it was some spiritual effect. we know better than that these days. plain and simple it gets you high because it just has that chemical effect on you, not because you're connecting to god in any particular way. religion as a whole was born out of a more primitive man's mind to explain things which he could not logically explain to himself. we're beyond that now, religion is obsolete...
