Franck, we are talking about Stoners, not druggies and drunks. Stoners think they can smoke a lot of pot, that's it. Drinkers are the ones that think they can out drink others and have to prove it. When a Stoner proves it, everyone watches TV for 3 hours, get un-stoned and can drive home fully sober..

Around the world millions and millions of people smoke every day. Show me the millions of news articles of pot smokers killing people in cars, causing car wrecks, and beating the hell out family members. I’m sure more people die in car wrecks from being tired, putting makeup on, or reading the damn paper than die from being stoned and driving.

I once was a heavy smoker and at one point a heavy drinker. It’s rather simple, pot is way safer, way cleaner, it doesn’t kill people, and it provides serious help with aids, cancer, epileptics and many other illnesses.

Don’t assume it’s bad because your parents, schoolteachers, and press tell you it’s bad. Try it first, educate yourself, and expand your mind before you make blind judgments.

What you're doing (which makes you look stupid) is trying to compare drunk drivers to stoned drivers. When there is nothing to compare, both are stupid and dangerous - period.

but no, smoking marijuana doesn't have an effect on everyones driving.... unless youre not talking about marijuana- cause i drive like shit when im coked out.

back when I was working for Adelphia, me and my boss used to smoke pot every morning behind some office building... and aside from our days seeming to go really slow, nothing bad ever happened, not once in 3+ years (i fell off a telephone pole, but that was because a peg was loose)...

but no--- i totally support any drunk driver that's aiming for your spoiled ass brat kids. :D

No, he is just spraying random Franck spew and I'm not saying it's "safe" to drive stoned. We all learned in high school that is isn't safe to drive under the influence.. Now, since we are all adults here and bullshit aside 99% of the webmasters here have or will again drive under the influence, of alcohol or pot, not other drugs since we aren't talking about them. I care less if you or anyone thinks pot is bad, I wasn't saying pot was good, I can't decide for you what is good or bad.

It's as simple as this.. If I had no choice, I would choose to ride with a stoned driver anytime over a drunk driver. Driving stoned may not be safe, but it is a hell of a lot safer than driving drunk. So much so, you don't hear about stoned drivers killing people, yet lots of people drive around all day high and stoned.

So, I'm not defending anything, I stated facts. I drink and I smoke, but I don't do either very often anymore. I don't care what anyones view or opinions are towards either, but I do think you should try it before you knock it.

I like to party as much as the next person but I always plan ahead. I never take the car out partying; instead I'll just grab a cab or stay the night. I enjoy life and plan to continue to enjoy it for many years to come, so I avoid the easy-to-avoid pitfalls like driving under the influence.

i havent heard many people say that drinking makes them drive better but i have heard people say pot helps them drive better.

Because there are no hard facts correlating driving to intoxication from marijuana its obviously hard to tell..

But what i do know from personal experience is pot helps you concentrate better on one task.. the key word being ONE task.. Your average driving doesnt require you to concentrate on too many things so driving while stoned may seem easier. the problems happen when there is more than one thing to concentrate on, then your better off not being stoned.. so in general its prob not a great idea to smoke pot or drink.. but one should not overlook other legal drugs like chocolate and coffee.

During the 80's i was a partcipant in prob the only test that comes close to answering this question. The test was about reaction time and driving while under the influence of marijuana. I didnt get to see the final results but the people in our test group did better with pot than without, but like i said a simulation and the real thing is totally different.

only a golfcart when golfing though, and yea, you don't drive better when drunk... I almost injured myself on many occasions driving a golfcart at 10-20mph, I would never attempt the same in a real car...

As for the discussion: apples and oranges. You can't compare a drunk driver to a stoned driver, just like you can't generalize saying every stoner/drunk drives worse while under the influence. I, myself, drive fine while stoned. Granted, I may go a little slower and less aggressively. I concentrate more on driving while stoned.

Like many have said, I'd rather drive with a stoner than a drunk. I'd rather share the road with stoners than drunks.

I will take the stoned slow drivers over the assholes that don't know how to drive sober. The world would probably be a safer place overall, nobody yelling, no road rage, everyone driving the speed limit..

And no, you shouldn't "try" driving stoned but maybe you should "get stoned" to take that edge off.
