to bad for him , he deserves to lose his career , but hecklers are asshole thinking their bad ass when they say shit. u dont like the show get up and leave . IMO they also deserved it , richards did go a lil far but i bet the next time they go see a comedy show they gonna keep their mouth shut

Seinfield will be on Dave letterman (i think tonight) and he will talk about it. also Kramer will be on via satalite to explain and apologize. He says he just blew up and doesn't see him self as a racist. But hes banned from that club for ever..he's caused a lot of shit....

You all need to look up Lenny Bruce. Shit 40 yrs ago he used to shock people by using the word. He said the only way to get rid of a word is to use it so much is loses it's meaning.
sad that 40 yrs later people still don't get it. |
it's serious cause at the time he was not joking.

Has anyone here ever read this book?
edit: link won't post, but check amazon for, "N!gger, strange career of a troublesome word" Written by a black professor of law who went to harvard. |
I never figured out why the N word or any similar words were funny even in a comedy setting so using them in anger is just lame for me.

Everybody has a bad day. I personally am not mad at him. Nothing anyone can say can top the way he feels about himself right now. It was an unfortunate incident, and his career will suffer, but it won't stop the syndication checks he's getting from a few hundred re-runs a day. If he really was a racist Jerry wouldn't have had him on the show. Besides, didn't Sienfeld have that one episode with that black guy on it. "Jean Claude" the marathon runner. Imagine that. A sitcom set in NY and in 11 years they only came across 1 black guy. |

I think "colored" really shows a persons mind set. Everyone knows the "N" word , because its still in circualtion, but, no one has said "colored" since J. Edgar Hoover wore his last dress. (the 50's) That word stirs up racism more than any, because it was last used during racist times. I don't get pissed when some ays the "N" word around me,and I hear it. I get pissed when they pull that, "You know I don't mean you right? I mean there's white "N's" and black "N's"." My favorite Chris Rock joke is: "There's Black people and then there's "N's". Black people go to work everyday, educated their children, pay their taxes and are part of the community. "N's" will rob your house while you're at work. We got to get rid of the "N's", they're fuckin it up for everybody." |
At first I wasn't gonna say anything... after reading the entire thread, I've lost respect for a few people here who I've seen and spoke with on the board for yrs. I can't stand ignorant people :2 cents:

but leave out the "ugly comments" lol -Loki- |
Good for him! Black comedians say that shit all the time. IT'S COMEDY!!!
Black folk love to talk when they should not be talking and I'm sure they provoked him to go off in the first place. Sadly it went too far and may backfire on him. |
Actually, black people appear in more than one episode of Seinfeld. In 1996, Carl Banks appears in the episode "The Andrea Doria", and in the 1994 episode "The Wife", Kramer even has a black girlfriend.
In that episode, Kramer's black girlfriend Anna invites him over to meet her family. Kramer arrives at her house after a tanning booth miscue that leaves him deeply tanned, prompting the Grandpa to say: GRANDPA (to Anna): I thought you said you was bringin' a white boy home! I don't see a white boy! I see a damn fool! <Kramer stands there, grinning foolishly.> ADG Webmaster |

I find it interesting that racism exists so heavily in the US. I have to say some of it is brought on themselves.
When I lived in London, I didn't really see so much towards blacks. Then again the black community there spoke proper english and wasn't wearing Football jerseys with pants hanging around their ass. You think maybe that the black community needs to clean up their act, and find some real leaders. I think MLK would be rolling over in his grave if he saw his community today. Rappers and such play up stereotypes, instead of not. How many rap vids have you seen with lots of bling and big ass women dancing around a pool with thugs all around. Not sure you remember when Bill Cosby brought this up a few years ago, he was called an uncle tom and shit. Gimme a break, this man has done more for the black community and breaking stereotypes than any black person. The first time he speaks the truth they call him out. The world is fucked up, but some of it is brought on ourselves |
