Shooting:

I went out today to do some target shooting with my two sons. We took with us a .30-30 lever action Winchester Carbine, a .12 Gauge Browning single shot, Shot Gun, a .22 Bolt Action Winchester Rifle, a .38 Smith & Wesson Revolver with a 4-1/2 inch barrel, an Army .45 Semi Automatic pistol, and a .22 Hi Power Semi Automatic pistol.

At fifty feet I used to be capable of shooting an eye out, with each round fired, using a pistol. In my old age, I have to be satisfied with a head shot.

Enjoy your youth people, it only happens once in your life.

Very late sixties, and from here on out, I will always be in my late sixties. I just don't like the sound of seventy.

I have used AK-47's when the chips were down. The AK-47 may be the best, most durable, rifle ever made for combat.

They are nice guns, I want one thats fully automatic but I thinks it's illegal, or maybe I just never seen one available or I am in the wrong state or something. Although I have a friend who could stick a piece of metal in behind the trigger and make it fire short 3 or 4 round burst

Without a proper federal license, a full automatic is illegal in all states. In many states, a semi-automatic AK-47 is illegal.

How hard is it to get a federal license? I know someone who got a concealed weapons permit with a little class room time and a court appearance, I also know someone who has a firearms dealers license and I think it cost him only $1500 a year.
Is obtaining one done with similiar ease?

I am not familiar with the details, but it is my understanding that it is realatively easy to get a dealers license, although it is also my understanding that within the recent past they have tightened up the law. Some one on this board may provide more detail than I can.

Ahhh...the 106. A millimeter bigger. How good were you with the .50 Cal spotting rifle?

in Latvia AK-47 very nice for hunting Russian bear and fishing salmon (for the big salmon only)

AK-47 in every war, in every country for 50 years I think

Kenny-

Obtaining a federal firearms license is not as easy as getting a concealed firearms permit. Currently, not only do you have to go through a BATF background check- you must also have a real place of business to be able to justify being a gun dealer. A standard federal firearms license only allows you to sell standard firearms(NOT machine guns or short barreled rifles or shotguns) or do gunsmithing services.
In order to purchase a registered machine gun(whether thru a class 3 firearms dealer or private sale), you must fill out a federal form for a federal BATF background investigation, be fingerprinted, submit a photo, and have your local law enforcement agency sign the form. You must also pay a $200 fee for each weapon you apply to BATF to register, then wait 3 to 6 months for approval or denial. I know this because i used to have a federal firearms license about 10 years ago, and I bought a full auto Mac-11 a couple years ago....
