Most Over-Rated Movies Of All Time

As much as I love Martin Scorcese, I'd have to say "Raging Bull" doesn't deserve all the accolades it was given, and I was disappointed when I saw it, especially the ridiculous boxing scenese. Both fighters would have perished taking anywhere near that punishment.......it became like a cartoon for me.

Feel free to add your most over-rated movies you've ever seen to the list.

I thought Raging Bull was a really good movie.

I am sure people will call me crazy saying that "Sideways" was a bit overrated. I mean it was a good movie, but it's not as good as everyone made it out to be.

are you serious? you don't have to like mafia movies to know that this is the greatest movie ever made. and Godfather 2 ranks right behind it.

It's on every single top 5 list ever. And Godfather 2 makes the top 15 on almost every list...even ranking 1st on the TV Guide poll.

Really bad movies that are nominated and win a shit load of awards like Chicago, shakespeare in love and Moulin Rouge. The kind of movie you see only because theyre nominated when they're not worthy at all.

Those movies and Balls Deep #6 too.

Chicago I can't agree with you
Moulin Rouge was also a decent movie.

My choice is a recent one... Capote

i wouldnt buy the dvd, but i thought Titanic was a great movie.

The Shining is a classic. Thats a great movie, and i think its underrated myself.

I watch so many crappy movies and Crash was a refreshing view. Liked it alot!

Basic Intinct wasnt about the acting... it was about imagining Sharon Stone as a naughty hot slut!! Part 2, eh, my movie buying power for that story went limp.

Spiderman sucked. BAAAD! Who'd they get??? Sea biscuit was more proper casting.

The Lion King was badass if you were a kid.

I agree about everything else on your list though

Blair Witch was pretty good the first time you saw it in theatres. It surely didnt transfer over to a dvd release though.

Mullholland Dr was shot to be a pilot for ABC Television. It wasn't picked up so they turned it into a movie. Thats why there are a million plot holes and a bunch of questions unanswered (unless you look really hard).

Memento was suprisingly good. Skipped "In the Bedroom" though I heard good things. Haven't seen Spartan since I was about 12 so I can't really comment.
