Afternic drops adult domains

Quote:
After extensive consideration, we have decided to no longer accept domain names that promote hate, sex, obscenity or self-destructive behavior, such as substance abuse, violence and gambling. The sole rationale behind our decision is to make Afternic a more comfortable site for mainstream domain name shoppers, especially small business owners. We recognize that taking a leadership role on this issue may have a negative financial impact on our business in the near term. Nonetheless, we believe strongly that it's the right thing long-term decision for our industry and Afternic.
Wow ballsy,

Why does porn and sex always get lumped in with bad shit?

What the fuck is so bad about sex?

Afternic is a private company and they can do what they want so I'm not going to get upset about the issue, but I do hope that they take a big hit from not listing adult domains.

I ... am ... surprised ....

What does it change that ISUCKBIGBLACKCOCKS.COM is registered with them or not...
Anyway, my main domains are with Directnic, the lessers with Godaddy and a few with Netfirms.

""We believe it is up to the industry leaders-and we include Afternic here-to step up and determine what constitutes professional standards and practices""

So anyone involved in adult has no professional standards of professional practices?

Condescending assholes... and Afternic sure as hell isn't an industry leader. Last time I checked the calendar the year was 2006, not 1999.

I still have 200 domains on there. Any suggestions on where else to put them? I actually did alright in the last year, sold more than five on Afternic.
