i notice on a few sites after you click through, with your ref code, you goto the bottom and view the "webmasters make $$$" link at the bottom, no ref code...

is it because their trying to sneak webmasters that view that site from your code from you and hope you don't know? or whats going on? why not just use the same coding for the rest on there, and give webmasters credit for the other webmasters who signup to your program after clicking a link in a page that has your code on it...

Angry - almost any program going... a few nats ones do have a follow feature, but pretty much all the major programs lose the webmaster code on the make money link.

"webmasters make money $$$" links to affiliate programs on the tour have to be the most idiotic thing ever. Surfers clicking around seeing that their $1 membership is worth $30 got to make them think twice about signing up or they end up as affiliates without a clue looking for free content.

Aleast make the webmaster link an e-mail address, so potential affiliates will have to e-mail for more information

I can't see anything bad in having no affiliate codes in the webmaster referral links if the content (paysite tour or whatever) is for surfers. Some programs even use different codes for webmaster referral and surfers.

It's the same problem as the different signup tracking methods (URL, Cookie, Both): Alot of competition, promos push PPS higher and higher, some are already triple digit...you need to save this money somewhere and I prefer this honest approach, alternative would be shady methods like shaving. No, it doesn't mean that those who give full credit even for webmaster signing up via the surfer tour shave.

Webmaster referrals are overestimated anyway: Just have a look at the top player lists some programs publish. The top 10-20 will certainly signup via a friend who signs up via their code for a different program in exchange, the rest makes less than 1000$ a month, most even less than 100$ a month. That's the active webmasters, most people who signup under your account will never send a single sale. If you own a board like GFY, you make real money from referrals, if you are a big guy in the industry you'll stick together with others in your league and make money from referral exchanges. The rest is just pocket money for a meal...it's not like the hun will click to a paysite with your code and signup for the webmaster program, it won't happen. Maybe I exaggerate a bit, but to make webmaster referrals pay your car, it needs alot more than your code in the webmaster link on the tour page of a paysite.

HAHAHA That brings back some recent memories for me. ROFL

We pay in many ways to get traffic to those sites, we should get the referral for webmaster signups. I don't actively recruit for any program, I don't like extra competition if it doesn't HAVE to be there. I've seen someone say before "competition comes naturally, I don't recruit it" and that's the way I see it too.

Except for programs or sites I looked for by name, all the porn programs I've joined in the last two years was through tours I liked for sites I had never seen before. I have never joined any program, porn or mainstream, from a webmaster resource link. Maybe I'm in the minority, I don't know?

I surf a ton of sites every day in several areas and when I come across a program I've never seen or site I really like, I always for a webmaster/affiliate link. If I like what I see and read in my search for it, I sign up from there, or I just move on without signing up.

I think from now on I will email the owner of the site I used to join the affiliate program and ask them if they got properly credited with the referral for my signup. If they didn't, they can raise hell with the program themselves. :D

Yeah, I only knew of one that ever did it but they stopped.

It would be cool if more did do it. After all, would the webmaster have found their program if you were not promoting it?

I've joined quite a few programs after surfing a TGP and seeing a hosted gallery that I thought would convert for me. In fact that might be the way I've joined most programs.

damn that sucks man, i hate traffic leaks, maybe i'll just download all hosted galleries and add my own ref link to those and host them myself from now on...

i know i surf hosted galleries alot and find new sponsors, i would rather signup for a program under another webmaster then under no one at all... the only way i will signup without a ref code is if the person who referred me is someone i don't like, but still i try to find someone else who has that code and use theirs
