What brand is it? and the other monitors you've bought? I have a samsung syncmaster 19" and it's been working like a charm for a year now. No dead pixels, no nothing.

My next monitor will definitly be a samsung

ya, Samsung rocks.

selena 11-07-2006 04:50 AM

None on my Dell, knock on wood. My last monitor had 1, and it about drove me nuts.

notabook, that is a cool tip, and one I will keep in mind. :)

fallenmuffin 11-07-2006 04:55 AM

1... its so tiny i forget its there.. however when a browser is open its perfectly in the address bar and is slightly noticable.

EdgeXXX 11-07-2006 04:58 AM

I guess I've been fortunate because none of mine have dead pixels.

Nicky 11-07-2006 05:11 AM

I have not had much success but you may wanna try to unstick it by using an animated gif comprised of three frames, one green, one blue, and one red. Set it to go fairly fast (.1 to .2 secs) and leave it on for a while. Many people report being able to unstick stuck pixels this way.

LOL

I have to move the whole task bar/systen tray to the top instead so I could see shit haha

StarkReality 11-07-2006 05:26 AM

Samsung 19'' with zero dead pixels here, friend bought the same model and has 1.

If you just bought it, return it, just don't give the stuck pixel as a reason...

tornell 11-07-2006 05:32 AM

I thnik, it's dead monitor

Porko 11-07-2006 05:44 AM

Vitasoy 11-07-2006 05:48 AM

Like one or two, but not noticable

studiocritic 11-07-2006 06:00 AM

stuck means it shows only a single color
dead means there is no color

You dont need anything from the site....They used a DVD that continuosly flashed red, green, and blue and it fixed the problem after running 4-8 hours.

notabook 11-07-2006 06:27 AM

Good luck regardless. I've yet to have success with unsticking any pixels, but I have with 'pushing' pixels back from the dead.

That I did not know. I have a bright red dot on my other monitor, and assumed that meant dead.

yeah i think the number is 12 with dell....if it is less than 12 dead pixels they won't take it back

sixstringmoneymachine 11-07-2006 06:50 AM

Dual Samsung SyncMaster 213T's and a Dell 2007FP -- no dead pixels.

Return the thing :2 cents:

None so far (crossing fingers). I have a Sony Vaio laptop. I just got it a few months ago and it would definitely suck to see a dead pixel so soon. My old Dell laptop had a few (took over a year to get the dead spots though).

I have a SOny Vaio to, they are fantastic.

BitAudioVideo 11-07-2006 07:09 AM

a stuck pixel - red/blue/green can often become unstuck by using the flashing color technique people have mentioned but i have found that it normally gets stuck again - sooner rather than later.

a dead pixel is a "dry" spot in the "liquid crystal display" and rubbing it sometimes gets the juices flowing into that location

Spunky 11-07-2006 07:15 AM

They are going for so cheap nowadays..like 250 bucks for a 19"

Theo 11-07-2006 07:21 AM

mine is stuck, but i tried that software before and didnt do anything
also rubbing it,i rubbed it enough to feel pervert

bizarrejan 11-07-2006 07:24 AM

i have none that i know of, take it back

Sosa 11-07-2006 07:41 AM

one in the upper right corner. was like that when I got it. Nothing they would do since their policy was 8 of them and they had to be in the center square of the monitor.

NinjaSteve 11-07-2006 08:06 AM

i have none yet

Ill.Lori 11-07-2006 08:29 AM

none here....

justinsain 11-07-2006 09:05 AM

22" Apple Display with no problems for 5 years.

24" Dell Monitor 1 dead pixel out of the box

Aquarius 11-07-2006 09:08 AM

None yet.
