2002 All Star Game
Now was that a bad call on bud selig's behalf. A tie in baseball thats horseshit, Baseball isnt what it used to be more and more now I personally am starting to fade away from the game as a fan. Bud is the worst commissioner I have ever seen.

game over... one guy broke his hand in this game, thats pretty fuckign lame. you dont want your star pitcher to go on the DL because some jackass didnt want the game to end in a tie...

I do have a big problem with Selig though, the entire thought of him being Commissoner is a joke and a conflict of interest. He's an owner, how can he be fair to the players? If they strike/lockout they can keep the fucking sport!! |

Yea it was kind of lame...........but with pitchers arm's in question and only 3 days off from the reg. schedule it makes it tough..
They should have had a homerun derby to see who the winner was. Each side get there 3 best sluggers and they gey so many outs. maybe they will consider something like this in the future ,dunno. ![]() |

Don't complain about salleries, they were offered these contracts. The owners complain, and complain then some ass gives A-rod a quater "Billion" dollar contract. The owners can't help them selves, and they expect the players to bail them out by saying we won't take the money. Yea that's going to happen. |

Perhaps like the World Cup in penalty kicks.. both teams bring up their best 5 hitters for a strike throw, whoever has the most homeruns wins.

While I understand the reasoning behind the endingof the game (you don't want to risk injuring the arm of a star pitcher in a game put on strictly for entertainment) my problem was the lack of an MVP and Selig just pulling out the troops and disappearing without even addressing the fans...I hate Bud Selig more than any other human alive..he has destroyed baseball...the two teams he just wanted to get rid of are in pennant contention, yet his own team, which sucks ass and contains only one player even worth watching (Sexson) still gets to ermain alive AND it got the texpayers to toss in a new stadium with "luxury skyboxes"
I don't give a fuck about the salaries..the best in the game should be paide the best...if the owners want to keep salaries under control, they should stop with the big contracts...take a star player and offer him a % of the gate...get creative...I don't like the idea of salary caps because that's like telling a business owner he can't raise his secretary's pay above a certain amount... Interleague play has killed the thrill of the all-star game for me personally... and as for this game being meaningless? tell that to the fans that paid $175+ per ticket to see their favorite players...the all-star game was created FOR THE FANS...and Bud Selig (multi-millionaire who still gets his hair cut at Supercuts) gives the fans the finger, not even so much as an explanation...they decide to name the All-Star MVP after Ted Williams and what do they do in the first year? Don't even have an MVP...just yank the players off the field and basically tell the fans to go home... As a diehard baseball fan who has learned to live with abuse (the '94 strike) and other bullshit, I'm just getting a little tried of it... sad to think games like basketball and football have overtaken baseball as America's favorite sport...fuck, even the piss boring game of soccer has risen in popularity....I guess some fans aren;t as diehard as me....please, don't make me have to watch basketball or soccer...
