Ok we all know REGISTERFLY SUCKS but this is too much....

You are now chatting with 'Marcelino'
Marcelino: Hello,
Marcelino: how may I help you today?
xato: hi
xato: i renewed 50 domains yesterday, and i am aware that you got a new renewal system. but its more than 24 hours ago now, and it still says 50 active transfers...
xato: and the domains expire tomorrow. so i wonder when the renewal will be done.
Marcelino: If they are going through the renewal/transfer process, it will take 5 to 7 business days to complete.
xato: 5-7 days???? but they expire tomorrow!
Marcelino: We have a new renewal process in place as of 2/1. Previously RegisterFly.com used multiple providers to handle our backend domain name registrations. We are now consolidating from multiple providers into RegisterFly.com directly. When you submit a renewal request we will be requesting the transfer from the different providers directly to RegisterFly.com, inc an ICANN acredited registrar. When the name transfers over (usually in 5 to 7 business days) the full year will be added to your domain name. Your site and settings will remain unchanged during this transition. If you have any questions please feel free to contact our support department at [email protected]
xato: lol
xato: i know your new renewal process
xato: but that doesnt help me now
xato: what happens tomorrow when the domains expire if the renewal isnt completed yet?
xato: hallo?
Marcelino: They are going to be down and comeback up automatically.
xato: lol they mustnt be down
xato: it CANT take 5 days to renew a fucking domain
Chat InformationChat session has been closed by the site operator. Thank you for using RegisterFly.com live Chat and have a great day!

transferred all my domains to godaddy now.

xato - I don't think they actually go down if you initiate the renewal beforehand.

Closing the chat session on you sucks bigtime though - send a complaint via the support ticket system.

Also, let them know if you lose money because of their system renewal process being more ancient than snailmail, that you will have to speak to someone about proper compensation. **Although if my memory serves me correctly, it stays live for awhile.

Hi Trixxxia,

thanks a lot for your ideas, I will do that.
However last time I forgot to renew a domain it showed some parking page immediately on the same day... so I doubt that the sites will stay live.

Difference there is you forgot to renew **I've done that too and seen the same** but when you renew beforehand, even if it's slow as fuck, it shouldn't give you a problem.

Why even give them another chance or even better yet, why give them any more of your money?
I would have transferred the domain names when they closed the chat session with you.
I wish you luck. Nothing like dealing with fucking incompetent companies

okay guys and gals it gets even better:

after initiating the domains transfer request via godaddy, i should have gotten emails to confirm the transfer to the whois protected emails like [email protected].

guess what?
yep, the emails havent been forwarded yet.
that means, i cant even move them to a different registrar right now.
holy god fucking damn shit.

Don't do that, that will only complicate the issue. Your sites will stay up and all the domains will renew, I've been going through the same thing this whole year with Registerfly.

I moved my domains away from registerfly.com back in 2002, and even then they sucked badly.

how do you successfully move them to a different registrar?

do you initiate the request through the new registrar?

I've hit the same problem with RegisterFly for renewals. But TopBucksTrixxxia
is 100% correct, if you initial the renewal in advance your sites will stay
live however, the control panel will say otherwise. It will show them as
expired. And it will take the five days before the control panel shows the
correct info.

You can get them to process the renewal IMMEDIATELY by giving
them a call. Then the renewal and the control panel will both show
the right info. It is a pain in the ass but, it saved me the transfer
fees and worries of losing my domains.

hi there
i'm getting mad & really despaired

- some of my domain names are soon to expire
- but it's impossible to renew domain names at registerfly.com : they say "you have first to change contact here or there etc.", and well i do so but it never works (last year i already had thos troubles ....)
- i posted like 20 support tickets since one month & always get same auto-response, so on one of my tickets i said "are you dumb or what ? do you read my tickets ? i do what you say and it still does not work"
- then i got a super message "your tickets will disregarded , as we do not accept the use of profanity, no matter the circumstances.". I just said "are you dumb or what ?" and insisted on the fact that i was about to lose all my income. COol.
- yesterday i called them on the phone and could have them (hurray) they said : tommorrow it'll work. Mmmmm ...
- today i go on my panel and try to renew: still does not work, and i see they took 9.99. FOr what ? DOn't know, the quick checkout for purchases does not work too. THen get a mail : the renewal for "domainxxx.com" could not be renewed cause "Purchase price is greater than available balance". My balance is like $40 and purchase prie is 8 or something (and they did take 9.99 for i don't know what, remember ?)
- I insisted on the phone and support tickets to say : "if i lose these names me and my family will be STARVING, this is a real sos, i think it's not THAT hard to renew a domain name"
- I thought of forwarding these domain names to a new account at another registrant, but a friend of mine who has SAME problems tried to do so and it did not work too.
- So here we are : in front of a WALL ; what can i do ?
