How do you disable the seatbelt alarm on a new car?

Anyone know how to disable the seatbelt alarm in a new car.
I just got a new Chrysler 300 the other day and the damn seatbelt alarm goes off if your not wearing it.

Varies per car of course... On my last car I just started it up and let the thing beep away, and felt around under the dash until I could tell where the buzzing was come from... It was just a pair of wires plugged into the speaker, and very easy to just pull out.

If you're really desperate you can just unbolt your seatbelt clip, cut the wires there, and cross them.

That's not the point... the alarm is fucking annoying if you spend a lot of time in your car. I would never drive without a seatbelt yet always disable the alarm in every car I own. Waiting in something like a ferry line I like to take it off, or when working on my car I have the keys in and the stereo on and stuff... It's just fucking annoying, I don't need a high pitched beeper telling me to put my seatbelt on.

haha the suggestions some of you guys are making are crazy. cutting wires? the set beat beeping is programmed into the cars computer system just take it to a dealer they'll hook it up to a laptop and disable the beeping for you. you can also as them for a print out of all the other preset options you can turn on and off.

seatbelt = modern day darwinism. not smart enough to wear a seatbelt, hopefully not smart enough to breed.

You better get that disabled right away. I mean you wouldn't want that annoying alarm to distract you and cause an accident while driving without a seatbelt.

that only depends on the car, and i dont know any dealer that would turn off a safety system for you. too much liability

Oh it's the Chrysler 300? Nope, no good. If you try to disable the seatbelt preset by messing with the wiring it automatically delivers you a mild but convincing shock.

                        I wouldn't chance it.
