Anyone here have experience setting up game servers?
Friend is interested in purchasing a server and colocating it to sell game server packages on, but has no idea about how to properly mod/setup a game server, as I've heard it is no easy process to maximize server performance to squeeze in as many slots as possible without creating lag... Any tips/direction/insight from those knowledgable would be much appreciated, ie information regarding colocation services, actual servers, and the whole modding process.

just a tip from a gamer, dont try to go huge. make a smaller game with no lag, and good admin and it will always stay busy
