your opinion on TGP admin scripts?

Hi, there!

I'm new to this board (actually never seem to have the time for boards in general), but not new to adult sites.

I want to get back into the TGP biz, and abso-bloody-lutely can't decide which script to use. Somehow Germes' Thumbnail Gallery Bush is out of question in $$$-terms, so I'd like YOUR opinion about the other scripts on the market - PRETTY PLEASE ))

I want to feed 3 TGPs from one submit page and require only one recip link. The sites shall be a little different in lay-out: one with chronological listing of series w. discription [24 - teen gets laid], and the other two with listings in categories [HARDCORE GROUPS: 20 pic series4u - 16 pic series4u - etc.]. I don't mind if I have to tweak the script a little if the author permits this...

In an extensive search I found some 20 (!!) scripts to run a TGP site - further reading narrowed it down to what I believe are the best: AdultGallerySQL, TGP-Devil, aWIZtgp, ComusTGP, iTGP, SilverICE, plus any I missed.

Is anybody here willing to share their experiences with scripts?

Cheers!

AutogalleryPro is a nightmare for submitters. The submission box is oversized and asks for too many unnecessary details. Very few people bother trying to modify it. It is the motherfucker of all scripts. It is also painfully ugly.

You won't find any better than Germesia.

I installed comus for somebody and was less than impressed.

It generates its listings on the fly, so it is not efficient for large volumes of traffic.

The gallery approval process uses a meta tag redirect method instead of a header based redirect method, adding 1-3 seconds to the approval time for each gallery. (trust me, this is annoying and it matters.)

The black list function works by email address, but no where in the software can you find out the email address of offending galleries in order to black list them.

The gallery approval page presents and scans all galleries in the queue on one page. If you let 200-300 galleries build up in the queue, it can take 30-45 seconds just to load the approval page. (The russian submitter will cripple a stock Comus script.)

Its cheating detection is rudamentary at best. Get ready to hear "I have a secret website."

The html it generates is poor and does not validate at w3c and does not render properly in some of the more obscure browsers.

I use autogallery sql and have set this up before for multiple sites to use the same database ... only thing is you need the same niches on each of the domains.

if tgpfeed was active you could feed N number of tgp sites with galleries and format them any which way you like on each site

Thanks for all the feedback so far...

As with all things: it's what they're NOT telling/showing on the sites selling the scripts what really counts!!!

Looking over most of the listed sites I was left with more questions than answers - things like blacklisting, etc. I'm not really new to this, just haven't done a TGP for 2 years or so (simply didn't have access to high bandwidth internet where I live - now I'm on DSL, so it's a breeze ). I wrote several emails to people selling the scripts with detailed questions like these scenarios:

A> a trusted webmaster submits a page on a free host which should be banned for re-direcing traffic, but I don't want to ban this particular webmaster as such, just this particular host - can it be done?

B> several sub-domains on a free host are owned by cheaters, but the free host itself is rather reliable - can I selectively blacklist the URLs for http://www.sexhost4free.com/users/pornpics/ without affecting other URLs hosted by http://www.sexhost4free.com/users/ , or blacklist http://catsass.nexgenfreehosting.com/ without blocking http://pussy.nexgenfreehosting.com/ or http://tropicheat.nexgenfreehosting.com/ (not saying that nexgenfreehosting IS a good host - that's one I would blacklist - they were URLs at hand at the time).

Guess what: most haven't answered at all! Actually: JMB were the only ones.
If support's already dead before purchase, it's not worth considering parting with the $$$s.

In the meantime a friend (who's running several bigger TGPs) replied and told me that he has a modified version of Germes Blondie to run multiple sites; from their page I understood that it was only possible with Brownie (for $2,500), that's why I chucked the idea - don't mind to pay $50/month for the Blondie version === I guess this answers which way I'll be heading...

Q.: how to I get rid of the silly "I am probably spamming" under my name? I'm NOT

Brownie has all the features you're looking for and more...
brownie is 700 USD or 50 bucks per month lease

tgbush is 2500 USD or 350 bucks lease...tgbush is for multiple
sites (even hosted on multiple machines is no problem) germes
has excellent support and is always on top of things...

Sure it's not cheap but once you run with it you understand why.

JFPdude - could you explain this a little more?

Do you mean you need to have the same CATEGORIES on each TGP? I actually wrote an email to JMB, and according to their reply it's possible with the SQL version to modify it to my ideas re. page lay-out (one site with category listing, the other in chronlogical listing), and I don't mind to alter things a little myself (I do that with ThumbsPlus generated webpages all the time - run a custom script over the output to get 'my look' galleries). This would solve the quarrel about too ugly submit page (and that silly recip URL question thingy on it). And the TGP pages will be done with style sheets, so they will be clean looking.

I'm just not sure if it's blacklist features and gallery checker are good enough for today's cheaters!???

Any experience?
