Can anyone help me make a VCD?

Is it possible to convert a big mpg or divx file into something I can watch on a DVD player, like a VCD? I downloaded those CKY movies and I don't want to watch them on a tiny 21 inch screen.

I know one of you smart computer type guys can help out an old computer illiterate man like myself.

Take your camcorder, put it real close to the computer screen, connect the outputs to the inputs on your big screen and bingo!
One thing, I forgot this last detail: the Biz Markie will always prevail.

Labret directed me to http://www.vcdhelp.com/ when I asked a similar question.

The process is a huge, time consuming pain in the ass in my opinion.

I've been doing alot of them lately.
What kind of dvd player do you have? First thing you need to do is go to the site stated above www.vcdhelp.com and look your exact dvd player up in the search and see if your player has any issues with playing vcd or svcd.

I have a kickass toshiba thats a couple years old that doesent play any cdr media, i just recently bought a cheap Curtis thats said it did on the box but after burning several to no avail I looked it up on the site and others had the same problem.

One of the cheapest players that will play just about anything you stick in it is the Mintek available for 50 bucks at BestBuy. Plays all mpegs, mp3's burned on dvdr or cdr or even cdrw. Its in the list on the site with good reviews as well. My parents have one and I tested it, works great.

Chances are you can just burn the mpegs you already have to disc and this player will play it.

              Cheers,
              BV

I use Nero Burning Rom (by Ahead)
Use the wizzard in the program - (chose "other format") and it does everything for you
dont look at this signature, Wildcard told me making money on GFY is baaaaaaaaaddd - so my sponsor links have been removed

You should be aware that you can fit only 57 Minutes of Mpg-1 movie (VCD) on a 74min CD. If you have a DVD-r you are of course in better luck. Just use any tool that converts DIVX into MPG 1 or use NEro Burning rom to do it directly and write it on a cd.
SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.
