The extreme weather: Post your stories/pics

Something's not right with this world and we all know it. The weather is extreme and unusual. Here in Bergen, Norway it has been raining for 84 days STRAIGHT. Usually we have below 0 degrees and snow, but NOTHING at all. Nothing even close to snow. The high tide are higher then ever, and the rain is heavier. And it's just all over the news from around the world; storms, extreme snow, floods, waves you name it.

Tell me what you've got from your country...

And yes, the sky is falling... lol

No offense.. but you're a cry baby.

That's an every year occurence here in vancouver, so i feel your pain. lol

yea, the weather here is fucked too.. it's snowed more than 6-7 times, which is about 4-5 more than normal. (2 times would be considered a lot here)

Well it has been very dry here which is abnormal, getting no real snow pack in the mountains above us. Then the recent cold snap that fucked up the states citrus crops, done screwed me hard. We are not used to numerous nights in a row of below 20 degree's. Last night of the cold snap a rental unit of mine that was currently unoccupied had 3 pipes shatter. Covered hallway, bathroom, living room, and kitchen in water. Also created a lovely 3-4 inch deep ice pond in the gravel driveway. (sorry no pictures). With plumbing costs, emergency flood service, and so forth. Profit ability on that unit is next to nothing this year if I keep it rented all year.

I had to wear a winter coat in Thailand 2 months ago for 3 nights in a row. Of course, it is a beach town so a breeze was coming off the water, but I have never felt it so cold there.

That should sum it all up.

72 degrees here, yep it's Spain but it's normally about 55-60 not 72.
No snow in the Spanish ski resorts either.

Not long ago (a week ago) there was a flood in St.Petersburg, Russia. normally the water do not reach the surface of the ground 2-3 meters. This time it was on the ground and around.

There was no power. Now it is alright.

Last summer we had a hurricane in the middle of the Midwest. WTF?

When the storm hit, I was outside and watched our trees bend down to the ground. I saw iron patio furniture flying through the air and glass started exploding.

The city was in blackout and we had to go scrounging looking for ice and bottled water. We were out of power for 5 days but many people didn't get their power back for 30 days after the storm. The park by our house lost over 800 trees. Our city looked like a bomb blew up. You'd be walking down the street and bricks would fall right in front of you from the houses. Lines were everywhere. It was crazy.

Winds were hurricane level and while Tornado warnings are common in the warm months here.. this was so freaky. It happened so fast and came out of nowhere.

Just a couple pics from the park aftermath.

Winds snapped these trees like twigs.

I live in the northeastern US, and it's finally snowing and snow is in the forecast for the next 4 or 5 days. It's a couple of months late. Nothing too dramatic, but it's been so mild that our electric company added on a charge to the bill because their customers estimated usage was less than they anticipated. Can you believe the way companies can rip you off? Talk about scams... I mean the ONE silver lining to a mild winter is "well at least we're not paying as much.." wrong!

Not really much snow here in toronto yet, but it is starting to get cold and the snow is starting to come, but it's wierd becuse we usually have snow by december at the latest, but is was over zero here that whole month and only started to stay below zero this week. I think it's supposed to go above zero again this weekend. The weather is fucked this winter, there is no way global warming can explain a 10-20 or in some cases 30 degree rise in temp here, i just can't believe that in one year the world's weather patterns could have changed that much just due to global warming, there must be some other contributing factor as well.

We are residents here on the planet Earth. We've been here a short time, all things considered, and we are used to the weather being a certain way. The weather is changing. That's all. I'm sure it happens every couple of hundred years....

Golfcourses were open in december in finland (should be several degrees minus, and snowing).
Not that I complain, I hate winter. It's getting colder now though

Landed at Austin airport at 1am yesterday after the most turbulent flight in my 38 years.

Got to my car and it was completely ENCASED in 1/2 inch of ice. All I had to scrape it off with was a pen. 20 mins. later I was able to drive home.
