$1000 a week clear profit I could live on easily. If my house and car was paid off and I had $1K a week for myself thats damn easy. I'd be lucky to spend $200 a week of it if ALL my bills were paid.

Jakke PNG 10-28-2006 09:22 AM

People saying you couldn't live on 1000 profit per week are full of shit.
You CAN easily live on 1000 per MONTH profit almost anywhere...yeah, probably even california, london or japan.
It's not a grand lifestyle though, you pay your rent, cook at home (what's on sale), don't drive a car or own a phone or big-screen tv. Reality check people..

i might be able to

woj 10-28-2006 11:38 AM

if it's $1k after taxes, and you have no family to support, $1k/week isn't THAT bad....

Furious_Female 10-28-2006 12:15 PM

$1k a week profit for a single person or couple without any dependents is plenty of money to live an average lifestyle. You can either have an apartment anywhere but Manhattan and Beverly Hills, a small older house or a mobile home. Eliminating luxury items like movies, video games, alcohol, eating out, etc etc your cost of living will remain very low. You could spend a few bucks on movies, maybe eat out once a month.

As soon as you have a bigger and/or newer house or in a more expensive area, your expenses immediately go up. If you work at home or for yourself, they go up even more. Your cost of living is directly connected with your housing and area.

Unless you live off of credit cards in constant debt, you won't be able to have a big house, fancy cars (especially the insurance on them), travel to many places, eat at expensive places often, or buy things that you would if you weren't on "budget." You can save up for big purchases or whatever, but you will always have to live within your means to not go into debt.

Our expenses not including business for Napolean, me and my mom:

Rent: $1600/month
Gas: $50/month
Electric: $300-$500 a month
Water: $50/month
Car payment: $567/month
Car insurance: $290/month
Groceries: $400-600/month
Gasoline: $50-$100 a month
Cable: $120/month
Phone/DSL: $350/month

Those are just our basic bills not including business expenses, taxes and "luxury" items like our furniture, movies etc. We're going to be downsizing soon in an effort to build a house in the next few years. You will never get ahead by renting or having a huge mortgage. So really, anyone could live off of $1k a week or even $1k a month, but it just depends on what you want and not what you need. A lot of people are satisified with living modestly and normal/middle class. Others want it all... I'm somewhere in between. I can really go either way. Having money is definitely better than being poor but I'm a switch hitter, I can be happy financially either way. I just don't see any reason not to make yourself successful. Working and striving keeps you young. When you're green you're growing, when you're ripe, you rot.

interesting....

BusterBunny 10-28-2006 02:37 PM

i'd be happy with $50 a week:thumbsup

That might be a good living in Mexico or South America!

bausch 10-28-2006 02:46 PM

I live in So Cal. My apartment rent is 1600 a month. On top of that I have an unemployed boyfriend who has "paranoid personality disorder", (a type of mental illness where he thinks people are "after" him and chasing him. I'm absolutely serious, and he's not capable of holding a job for long periods of time because he has too many problems with anxiety and paranoia and getting along with others). So basically I have to support me and someone else too.

I also like to spend a lot, and save a lot. So no way could I live on 1k a week. Well, I could physically do it if I had to, but then life would probably suck. Life is much easier when you don't have to worry about money and bills.

bausch 10-28-2006 02:52 PM

I could live on it myself, but my bf is expensive. He took out a bunch of my money to hire a private detective to "Sweep his car" because he thinks someone planted a bug or tracking device on it. I chose to stay with him though so it's my fault. He just always spends a lot of my dough (thousands) because of his paranoid mental illness.

But if I was single I could live for even under 2k. I would just live with roommates in a ghetto place. It would probably be unsafe but I can take care of myself. I don't need much to live on myself. I don't eat much, and don't do much. All I need is a roof over my head.

The best thing you can do is give your boyfriend some
mental help before he blows more of your money.

klen i offer my sig for sale just to put something in my sig

I dont actively seek out sponsors to buy it if you notice I dont even have contact info there..why? because if its not a big deal at all in fact I have turned two sponsors down for my sig spot because I refuse to just put anyone there

on a side note,, what one makes per month and what one is worth are two diffrent things

That is one of the reasons I wanted to ask in this thread. I mean, we've seen threads like it before where people talk of wiping with hundred dollar bills, and they will not get out of BED for less that $5k a day.

A lot which is laughable.

But I thought for those who are serious, posing an honest ballpark might be able to see who can, and can't live on a generic figure. I know it doesn't allow for the New York and Cali places. But some of the answer's have been interesting. Plus an absence of the pimphands.

:2 cents:

It's when your living expenses exceed $1k a week that you run into trouble obviously, hehe ;)

bingo ! you nailed that one !

This is bullshit on a personal level, unless you fall into that trap due to zero willpower and vanity.

My personal expenses have gone down with the more I make. I do not upgrade things I do not need to.

I dont need a huge house, 50+k vehicle, newest electronics, dinning out every day, and so on. I enjoy my life just fine and my excess money goes into my future.

Sharky01276 10-29-2006 12:35 PM

I dont make that now :) I make £350 a week roughly. I own a car have broadband and big telle. No depts and single. Also only 22 think life gets more expensive as you get older.

starpimps 10-29-2006 06:38 PM

1k a week isnt much money
but then again i barely make 1k/month of porn
thats why its just my part time job

isabelllo 10-29-2006 07:33 PM

I could, but then again my only commitments are rent, utilities, food, and my dog. I live in Ohio, so shit isn't that expensive. If I were to move back to California.... no :(

iNNOVADEA 10-29-2006 07:40 PM

i would be a baller here with that. :)

E$_manager 10-29-2006 09:22 PM

The only big expense is my rent. I also pay for my daughters' school and house bills. All in all it is a big sum of money, but i like the house and the school though i could find some cheaper places.
