Can ANYBODY clarify on the prices at all? I swear the last time I checked (though this was 2 years ago) the price was more like $600. I could be very wrong. $1300 would take 40 affiliate sales just to break even, add another 20 for bandwidth. Sixty sales is quite a bit just to break even.Vacares - Web Hosting, Domains, O365, Security & More - Paxum and BTC Accepted

1300 seems a bit much yeah...i didnt even the chance to think about because of that idiot. But yeah, 1300 for a random top spot seems a lot and not easy to make break even, let alone make profit. Can ANYBODY clarify on the prices at all? It gets better.

That's the 27th, 28th, 29th, and 30th. Campaign ran for a day on the 27th, so the rest is illustrates the "fall off" ... however. I used a 'redirect' URL to track stats ONLY coming from The Hun (so, basically, that domain was registered ONLY in August, and ONLY used to track that). Over the next few months:

You see the HUGE dip in September, but then it picks right back up again in October, as bookmarkers come back, and the traffic comes in from the people who "scrape" the listings off of The Hun.
Then, I did an Autoblogger Pro campaign with another URL to track the differences "side by side":

Same fall-off patters, about 10% of the total traffic (although, free, instead of the cost of the Hun traffic). Then, over the next few months, I tracked traffic to a "target" site, to see how many would pop through the ABP campaign:

Overall, I found that conversions were decent for both methods, and The Hun sure does pour on the traffic.
I *just* capped these for you, so sorry for the delay in responding -- I was capping and uploading.Comment

Dude he's in EVERY thread. The potential exists for him to fuck up EVERY thread. He fucked up yours because you replied to him. I'm not blaming you for anything, I'm simply saying don't respond to him.
Between these fucking morons running around posting and the board NEVER loading properly for more than 6 hr. timeframes, it really makes me wonder why advertisers even bother buying spots anymore. Talk about ridiculous.

I'll give you this advice once, because I'm not going to run around and argue with you.
This whole "trying" thing is your problem. Stop trying. Start doing. Most of the people here don't try, they do, every day.
I know how boards work. I've been posting on GFY for 4 years. I think I know more about the History of GFY than you.
Franck, and most everybody else in this thread has been in the industry for at least 3 years. Everybody knows who Cybercat is. Everybody knows for a definitive answer to contact Cybercat. He was looking for a detailed and up to date answer from somebody who has purchased spots lately.
If a buddy asked you where he can get a burger and you reply "the burger place" he'd look at you funny and call you a smart ass, then expect a real reply. That is exactly what you're doing. You're telling people things they already know, things YOU learned by READING from others instead of DOING. Reading is cool and all, but it only gets you so far.

i understand 100% but some people have to start somewhere and i have started to build a name for myself on the boards. believe me posting like i do is a large task. it has infact helped me to network with various people. even people that show a public distaste for me, yet privately salute me for my dedication to my goal.I'll give you this advice once, because I'm not going to run around and argue with you.

DO.
in regards to your buddy deal. franck asked publicly what the pricing was for the hun's top spots. now i know how companies work and normally they dont throw out their pricing on the boards. i bet once cybercat comes in here they will contact franck directly, rather than posting a price. if you visit their site, they dont post pricing. i think that is on purpose and therefore they dont want that info public. they would rather deal on a client-by-client basis.
with that being said, the response i gave was a good accurate response that was only given as a way to inform and not to detract from franck's question.
i am sorry the thread turned into a squishypimp hater fest, but i did not start that (franck did) nor do i think i contributed to it. all i did was defend myself like anyone would.Comment

Mystery solved. It was $650.00 for a top spot, but $1,350.00 for THREE links in the 2-5 spot. It's all coming back to me now. Here's the rest of the pricing, from 2005:
TEXT LINK ADVERTISING ON THE HUNS YELLOW PAGES
To check the stats go to: http://newstats.sextracker.com/st?sk...auth.Id=111180
A top text link sells for $650.00.
Your link would be the top text link on a given day ( you can select the day ) and your link remains at the top of that days page.
All links stay on the main page for 5 days, moving down the page as each new days galleries are posted.
After the 5 days your link will be archived where it remains active for a year.
With multiple text link purchases, we also sell the 2 to 5 spots, 6 to 15 spots and the 16-20 spots.
Here is the break down.
2 TO 5 SPOT:
3 text links for $1350.00 ( in the 2 to 5 spot )
10 text links for $4000.00. ( in the 2 to 5 spot )
6 TO 15 SPOT:
10 text links for $2500.00. ( in the 6 to 15 spot )
16-20 SPOT:
10 Text links for $2000.00 (in the 16-20 spot)
TEXT LINK REQUIRMENTS:
A text link must go to a free pics page with at least 12 to 15 free pics on it.
No exit consoles, redirects or blind links or blind banners are permitted.
If using movie samples, 3 movie clips is minimum.
PLEASE NOTE. The advertising cannot out number the free samples, on the free pics page.
The main focus must be the gallery.
When getting into multiple text links bear in mind that we need a new URL each time so that it doesn?t show up as previously ?clicked on? on peoples browsers and The Hun requires fresh content for each posting.
The Hun will not accept PHP or ID?s in the URL. Straight html only please.
Once a link has been approved and posted, no changes can be made to that gallery.
Text link advertising can start anytime during the month and we?ll help you set up your posting dates.
If you have any further questions, please don?t hesitate to contact me.

Well, I can only tell you as of Sept. 13, 2005, when Nina sent this in reply to the question you just asked:
Then, after trying to pin her down to a SPECIFIC date, I got this in reply:Hi Domenic,
Text links are available on all the sites for now except on the HUN.
I also have attached the text link price sheet for the HUN.
I can`t really recommend one site over the other as they all work great
And looking at your gallery it probably works on all the sites.
The final decision is up to you
Thanks!

Hi Domenic,
The waiting list for text links on the HUN goes into next year and we have
not started yet on that.

Yes, it is the incorrect advice to give. Everyone knows Cybercat handles advertising for the hun... However the prices change, the wait list is constantly growing, and since so many people on this board are in contact with cybercat on a weekly basis it is much easier to get the perspective from fellow webmasters who have bought ads recently and can tell you details of what package they got and how much traffic they received, rather than submit a formal sales inquiry to cybercat (possibly wasting their time if you are just curious and not serious about buying a spot right away), and waiting a few days for a reply.Comment

I've had a banner on the hun for years now and with all rebills and upsells considered I'm making a tidy profit
The banner costs $1,350 per month
My WorldSex text link costs $2,000 per month
You gotta work the upsells to make it work though.
