Can licensed content be used for t shirts?

I get a number of requests for T-shirts for a non adult domain that I have. I haven't thought of it before today, but maybe I should make some t-shirts.

Does licensed content usually allow you to do this?

Depends on the licence. Most of them allow you to use the content only on internet.

I think you'd have to contact the content provider about it. Perhaps get a custom license agreement. It would probably cost a bit more. But yeah, that's just a guess really. Probably the safest thing to do though.

It is pretty cetain that you will need an extra license. If you go ahead and the model finds out. You will need a water proof license to make sure you are not burnt.

Local photographer = local model = BIG TROUBLE

Go for someone overseas to supply the models image, get their license and sleep at night.

Good point I never thought of that, although the shirts will likely be sold everywhere, so I dunno if there is a way around that

Everwhere around the world?

I do know of an English guy who shoots in Czech Republic, he might sell you the license and you're not planning to sell their are you?

Knowing what "usually" applies is meaningless, though, isn't it? READ THE LICENSE FOR THE PARTICULAR PHOTOS! And if the license doesn't specifically allow it, assume you don't have permission. This isn't the end of the world, it simply means you have to ask the image owner, and quite possibly pay a separate fee for this use.
