    Anyone used to be an Electrician?

    I think I need new outlets, the room where my computers are has blow out or something I don't know if it would be ease to fix or not. I do know it's not the fuse box.

      I was never an electrician but I did go to trade school to become one. Its very easy to replace outlets. Just make sure you turn off all the power to the entire room to be safe.

              sometimes sockets go bad. invest in a meter, shut off the breaker, and have fun =]

                  I would kill the power in the whole house to be safe, sometimes things are wired in a funky way

                      just pay somebody to do it...don't you have a neighbor who is an electrician? i had one that i used to pay with vodka in exchange for him fixing stuff...

                              it's easy as 1 2 3... I mounted all the outlets in my apartment.
                              The best are the ones with ceramic case inside, no plastic (I've used Legrand, french ones but good ;) )

                                      We have replaced them often.
                                      Just turn off all electricity. Buy a 4.00 voltage tested just to be safe when you pick up what you need.
                                      Often it is not the actual outlet but the wire has come loose. There is some trick to which direction the wire should be bent around the screw so when you tighten it, it does not push it away eventually.
                                      Use electrical tape, twist connectors etc. Secure everything. Entire outlet replacement takes all of 10 minutes or so. Doing it yourself often saves like 80.00 or whatever the minimum service call most electricians charge.
                                      You can find step by step instructions on most DIY type sites.

                                          You still have actual "fuses"? If so, you might want to look into replacing your whole service.
