new site help - metered or unmetered?

    Hey guys,

A friend and I have a little photography business and we're going to start a gay site that we wanna launch this May. I called OC3 Networks and a few others and nn shopping for hosts I've been kinda overwhelmed with server stuff and have a question about bandwidth.

Which would be faster for people surfing my site; somewhere around 10mbps metered or 1-2tb a month unmetered? If the server is dedicated...wouldn't the unmetered terrabit be a lot faster for a site that is just starting?

Also, the videos on this server would be downloading..from what I understand streaming videos are best left on a streaming only server?

Also...any thoughts on minimum processors speeds and RAM would be cool.

What you start with mainly depends on how you plan to launch the site, if you're going for the start small and build up then follow the same strategy with the server. Conversely, if you plan to make a grand entrance, your going to need the infrastructure to start with.

I can tell you now, unless you are google you won't need an unmetered terrabit connection. 100mb will be adequate for all but the largest of sites. Whether you get unmetered or metered depends on traffic, whatever you start with most companies will let you upgrade/downgrade your bandwidth options without having to change servers.
