    The userbase of the internet grows all the time but...

    Will the next 'generation' of users be too smart about dc++, rapidshare, blogs and such that they *really* don't need to pay for porn anymore.
    I mean the blog/forums+rapidshare thing is REALLY out of control.

    I'm not even in the loop and I can find any movie I want pretty much from any of the more popular sites. Even some rare shit you can't license, such as japanese DVD's, vintage videos etc.. I'm sure that it will eventually hurt even DVD sales. I know there's *old guys* who don't know what this shit is, but they're dying soon. Everyone under 30 knows how to get shit for free.

    Now, if there's no customers there's no new content for sites either. Who'd produce porn if nobody buys it, right? I don't think these people care, there's 100000's of DVD's, and web-only videos around already. The *free* full-video sites will have content for decades to come, so they really don't have to give a shit about the producer of the content.

    Those who complained about TGP's giving too much free shit a few years back should look those days as the 'good ole days', when there wasn't any free porn.

    This is really just a rant.. I don't assume anyone has a solution for this
    ..and I'm off.

              btw, the biggest kings of the porn biz are still the Comcasts/Time Warners/Cox, etc. & Marriott/Best Western/Holiday Inn/Etc.

              they make a killing off of that.

                          Of course, but that was partly my point. The free sites no longer even need the paysites. Password thieving isn't a big deal (as far as I know) anymore. The problem is when 'fans' swap full movies, and this isn't small-scale friend-to-friend sharing. But rapidshare, sexuploader, megaupload and whatnot all give FREE downloads + free webspace and they pretty much don't give a fuck what they're hosting.

                          We can always blame the sponsors of the sites that support the rapidshare-type sites, but as we know very well.. if they don't allow them to advertise, someone will. Not really sure what to do about this if it becomes a bigger issue.

                          Only thing I can think of is to browse all the free sharing sites, and forums and report 'stolen content' to rapidshare every time you find one of your videos. Time consuming and pointless unless everyone does it.

                          ..and darkjedi, the sky isn't falling..but it could if this gets out of control for too long.

                              SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

                                              If you see what way it's heading, quit while you are ahead and find something new to sell

                                              Pet projects are dangerous. If you see that you are losing money or make significantly less than you are happy with, drop it and move on. Do not keep plugging away and hope for better times just because you have invested a lot of time in it / love it / cried over it / has made a lot of money in the past / want to piss off Bush / <insert other excuse>.
