Excel help, easy but important

I just spent the last hour trying to figure this out but still no luck. I am pasting a bunch of lines from a text file in this format:

99-98
99-97
97
01-94
99-94
93-92

But a few are showing up wrong such as 01-94 shows up at 34335. How can I turn off formating completely and display it in excel in the same format as I write or paste it? This is just the first step of the db I am trying to make and I know when I get to the html part "'s keep appearing randomly. Anyone know how I can just turn this off?

That's odd. I just tried it every way I could and still get the 34335 even when the other numbers are showing right. Sorry

Anyway to completely turn off formating? Or is there another program that doesn't do this?

you can add ' in the beginning of the content as '01-94, that prevents the automatic formatting...

you have to make sure you have a blank cell to start off with.
