This is a messed up story... Trout lake is fairly close to our cottage property up north, so it really caught my eye.. I guess at least they got some closure.
NORTH BAY?Joan Van Mierlo long ago wrote off the idea police would find her parents, who disappeared half a century ago while out for a boat ride at the family's cottage on Trout Lake.
But on Friday, the impossible happened: An Ontario Provincial Police underwater search and recovery unit found a boat, and what is believed to be the bodies of Allan and Margaret Campbell, not far from where their three-bedroom cottage once stood.
The remains were about 26 metres below the surface of Trout Lake, a few kilometres east of the family's hometown of North Bay.
