    Antihystamines, Ginsing, and Smitty

Since last summer, I had been taking Benadryl-D for my allergies and sinuses which have been terrible since I had stopped drinking. I basically took the Benadryl-D a minimum of once a day until a few months back when Benadryl-D was no longer available locally. According to the pharmacist at Walgreen's they had pulled it due to, "making a new formula".

    Odd.

Anyways, so I then switched to their generic. Which did not work for shit. Then Sudafed. A bit better, still nothing like the Bendryl-D however for handling BOTH allergies and sinuses.

Anyway.. sometime near the end of last year I started noticing the occasional "performance" issue when having sex. Sometimes Mr Happy would not make an appearance. Other times I would lose the hardon in the middle of sex, or some other variant of the same fun.

At 34 (now, 33 then) I should not have these issues. Since I do not drink, and have not for 2 years, I do not get whiskey dick anymore. So I had caught a thread on GFY by Smitty talking about trying Ginsing, Siberian Root. I followed the Smitty's instructions, and TADA. Back to normal. 4-5 times a day, back to back, and everything working magically.

Until I had to switch off the Benadryl-D. Then all of the issues came back, and even worse where I would not even get anything out of Mr Happy. Sometimes little more than a halfsie.

I thought about Viagra, and some of the other shit.

So doing some reading and research. I cut out the Antihystamines. Bought a treadmill to get more blood flowing. Within 2-3 weeks... BAM everything back to normal. Sweet justice.

I also have cut out the Ginsing. That shit would make my appetite like a fucking madman. I am normally not all that hungry, and eat a few meals a day. But when on the ginsing, I was ALWAYS fucking hungry.

    Back in da saddle baby.

Well, it sounds like you need to start drinking again.

i love Benadryl. its useful for doing cycles of clenbuterol and t-3 to reverse the desensitization of your beta 2 cell receptors.

why/how is it related to sexual performance? i would seriously doubt that there is a correlation.... but i am probably wrong.

Antihystamine's can have that side effect. It's not JUST Bendadryl. If you read up on such things, you will find a whole list of stuff that can cause E.D..

But as I had said, in my case. Stopped taking that stuff, and get the juices flowing with a treadmill. Tada. Back on the prowl.

Glad the ginseng helped you, at least initially.

I did mention in that original thread that one should cut back on the ginseng after it starts to work. I only take one every 1-2 days now, and it doesn't have much of an effect on my appetite, but it does boost my energy levels and definitely keeps the drive shaft on alert.

                  Stay healthy bro. :D

Yep. I followed the original Smitty. Starting with a couple a day for a few, and then cutting back. It did boost energy, and actually helped with acid reflux madness as well. But it also increased my appetite 2-3 times over.

But it was working nicely there for a bit. I guess it was countering all the other stuff.

I have not ate any differently. Just dropped off the Bendryl/Sudafed/Wahldryl stuff and BAM. Back to fucking like da champ Smitty.

i have never heard that before. thats interesting. guess it shouldn't be surprising that something that is basically a depressant, also might have a link to sexual performance.

nice to you you chose exercise first. diet and exercise are everything when it comes to how you feel and how your body functions. i took about 6 months off from lifting for a variety of personal reasons. i started again a month ago, started cleaning up my diet and was reminded of what it felt like to feel totally alive and full of energy again

one thing that is pretty sad about the US mentality on drugs is the idea theat there must be a pill to fix everything. my experience has taught me that exercise and diet can fix almost everything and pills have their place in most cases, but should be looked at as a last resort.

congrats on doing the right thing
