New automatic bollards fitted in the city centre. You can't have any sympathy for the idiots trying to tailgate busses through them. Made me smile so I thought I'd share.

Yup. It's been a bus (and authorized vehicles such as mail vans) only area for a while now but people were ignoring it hence the bollards. Guess they figured they could still ignore it if they were quick enough after the vehicle in front.

How the hell is that the same? They are simply barriers. It's like trying to sneak under a bog standard automatic barrier that goes up and down behind a car. If the thing hits you who's to blame? Better still why not drive the wrong way over clearly marked one way tyre spikes that you know are there then blame the spikes? Nothing wrong with the barrier per se. It's simply doing its job and rising after letting the vehicle through. If some twat in a four wheel drive or white van feels the need to drive into it knowing it's due to rise....

I'll happily laugh at someone dumb enough to drive into a barrier that they know is there.

There are both in car devices to open them when in range and an intercom for emergencies. Alternatively you can try to sneak into a more or less pedestrian zone behind a bus

And of course it's got a camera on it hence the vids but not monitered by a person as such.
