I just posted up on my blog about PHPFOX
PHPFOX is php code that right out of the box, gives you the same functionality as myspace. I have a license that i am using to build a mainstream site. I think this code would be great for those to build micro-communities. Check it out.. i will be hacking up the php code to put in my hooks, would be interesting to see what others are doing with it. Fight the plug!

while many may already have a myspace account/profile, its generic... if you have traffic or a group of people with common interests, i would think they would want to invest their time into making their own profile in a closed/niche space to share with other like minded people. myspace has been taken over by marketers that i think those that are serious about wanting to belong to a community are looking for a new home. So if you build your own "myspace" for a niche that you have access to, then you have a potential goldmine of building a community and being able to make some money at it, that isn't as in-your-face as myspace. Visit PHPFOX using this link (so can get credit as an affiliate) Fight the our space!

at quick glance this looks like pretty interesting software. I know I have had a few clients ask for a myspace type site and we had to turn the work down. I'll call them up and show them this software to see if it suits their needs.
Good link!

ya, i was in same boat.. I did find some source code out there on the net for a mysapce clone, but when i loaded it up, it wasn't all there working and no documenation (it was some myspace clone for some project that got leaked/shared). so then i found PHPFOX, and it just worked... its not perfect, but you can hack the code up to make your own hooks and change the template around, so i am pretty excited about it.. for $300.. i couoldnt' build it for that much. Their message board has instructions for how to use phpBB instead of their board. I am hacking the code to use my dot-bomb technology of the ability to use a phone to record a message, and people who visit the profile page can listen to the message. I'll be rolling this voice-to-web service later on (low cost but really adds alot of dynamics to web pages). Fight the future plug!
