, but I've never lived in a country which had that degree of "acceptance" - and almost a trust given to those in power. Elsewhere in western and several developing countries, they would be strongly opposed - and in some nations, thrown out of office. Where we operate now, the govt dare not go against the consenus or slip thru strange laws, else there is an option to have them removed within 30 days. This is also a country which is rated as having the "best example of democracy in action", despite it is still a developing country. The folks here are certainly not "protesters", but they seem to know what is best overall and expect this from their elected leaders. (Tho nothing is perfect - corruption is not unusual, but usually over monetory gain than any political slant or attempt to impose controls.)
