Well i think Sadie looks really cute. She doesnt wear sweaters on a daily basis, but when i do put them on her, she seems to really like it. Well she hasnt tried to rip it off yet anyways :1orglaugh

Plus she is only 12 weeks old, so it helps keep her warm when we are outside :upsidedow

Vanilla DeVille 10-18-2006 12:12 PM

Sadie is so damn cute! I love the pink sweater on her!

Damn, if she's only 12 weeks... she's going to be a big girl!!

WarChild 10-18-2006 12:45 PM

Martina,

I am somewhat of a Rottweiler enthusiast, having 3 of my own.

Some tips you might not know that can be very helpful:

1) Rottweilers are prone to ear problems, especially yeast in the ear. Clean and check her ears regularily for her comfort and safety.

2) Female Rottweilers have a higher rate of ovarian cancer than many other dogs. Spayed at 9 months old is really the most loving thing you can do for her.

bastardsquad 10-18-2006 01:04 PM

awww...that dog looks awesome...

im not one for dressing my pets but she does look good in her sweaters...

beemk 10-18-2006 01:06 PM

that looks like animal cruelty.

squishypimp 10-18-2006 01:06 PM

very cute dog :)

Elli 10-18-2006 01:08 PM

Rotties need something more fitting. Pink wool isn't quite what I would prescribe, but it's not my dog. :)

Bro Media - BANNED FOR LIFE 10-18-2006 01:23 PM

its reasons like that, are why rottweilers are so vicious...

Thank You so much for your tips. I did not know this. I actually have been cleaning out her ears every few days as they seem to get dirty pretty fast. I was planning of getting her spayed, was just unsure of when. So ill check into getting it done when she is 9 months old. Thanks again :)

Heather Carolin 10-18-2006 03:03 PM

Cute pic. I couldn't fight my lab into a sweater but I do make my little mini doxie puppy wear one when it's cold out. -Heather

Before her first heat is the best time, that's usually about 9 months. I don't remember the actual number, but a dog spayed before her first heat is something like 75 times less likely to get ovarian cancer.

For ears, I use a product made my Vet Solutions, but any quality product your Vet carries will do nicely. You'll need to massage the ear with the cleaner inside the ear channel, when she gets her next shots ask her vet to show you how.

Rottweilers should also be kept thin. You should be able to feel her ribs and spine with no problem. If you can not, she's growing too fat. This is important for their hips and a ligament in the knee called the Cruiate ligament (sp?). I won't even let my dogs jump down from the back of my SUV, I lift them out one at a time, but I've dealt with a crutiate ligment problem ($5000+ surgery) so I'm very paranoid about it.

If you have any questions feel free to ask at any time. Enjoy your new friend, IMHO Rottweilers are among the very best companion dogs. Her drive to please you will amaze you.

Furious_Male 10-18-2006 04:12 PM

She is a good looking dog. I have 2 males myself one is 13 and the other 5. Keep them light and fit and they live a long time.

As far as clothes they wear a bandana on occassion but that is rare.

Enjoy your pup.

topshelfdesign 10-18-2006 04:19 PM
