Best external hard drive?
I need it to be super quiet (no noise at all), and super fast (just like a normal hard drive).
Anyone using one? |

I have had a lot of hd's in my days and tried almost all the brands. The best harddrive manufacture is seagate in my opinion I also think they make the most silent hd's.
My newest external drive for my laptop is a seagate 300gb, 16mb cache and 7200rpm. I bought it cheap cheap on ebay.

SUPER fast and totally silent don't quite match.
If you want super fast, get a scsi setup... 15,000 rpm drives.. they are certainly not silent - but they are screaming fast. WD makes quiet drives.

buy any hard drive you want, stick it in one of 1000 options for external inclosures.
