Battery backups for small home office?

I've got 2 towers here, modern, high-power vid cards, pentium-D processors, 3 gigs mem, 20" monitor, some other stuff. Best Buy has the "Geek Squad" 900 Watt backup, but not sure if it's decent or not and can't seem to find any reviews. Anyone have battery backups at their office for several machines and find they work well? Also any recommendations on one-touch backups to mirror an entire machine/installation of disk?

Thanks!

JM

Ive got 4 of these currently. You get from 5 mins to 20 mins on them depending on the amount of load you have on them.

Generator? Link me please, because I'm used to the diesel generators in datacenters, and that's what I picture when I see that

I Picked up a 1500RM Server class UPS Rack Mountable. My 3 towers had 650W power supplys, and the unit is large enough that I also used it to run my 55inch big screen and home stero system, during a power outage, it was able to keep everything running about 30 minutes. Now I only have my main tower on it and it would keep it running for 1.5 hours or so I guess but have not really put it to that type of test. I was able to find it refurbed with a new battery for 100 bucks about 3 years ago. works like a champ.

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Produc...uctCode=382319 - terrific deal AR, 1500VA/900 Watt for $99. I use this one on three computers, each computer has about 3 or 4 minutes at about 50% load on the unit. Enough to pause/save whatever you are doing. Don't use CRT monitors with any UPS, always use an LCD for them, that'll decrease power consumption significantly.

One of these is on my list for next year.

5-6000.00 plus 1500.00 install. Not bad.
