    Home audio gurus

I want to buy a decent subwoofer - around 400 bucks or so.

I've noticed that most of the subwoofers at Circuit City and Best Buy have power amps built in.

My amp is decent - Onkyo TSXR803 - not sure I'd want to use a powered subwoofer. I'd think that my amp is better quality.

    Any recommendations?

Are there any online outlets for Reel? Their site only shows distributor's mailing addresses..

you def want a powered sub.

i have a 15" 250w mtx subwoofer that ive been very happy with. ~$400 (my neighbors hate it)

infinity makes a pretty nice one that crutchfield has on sale this week ~350 after 100 off.. saw it in their mailer, its probably listed on their site tho and they generally have free shipping at that price range.

Get a studio subwoofer. The crap they sell at circuit city, best buy, etc., are that, crap.

Thanks for the info, everyone. Going with a Velodyne DPS-12 - looks pretty good, sounds great.
