Did google finshed some sort of backlink update?
when doing link:http://www.mysite.com google shows you a portion of the sites that link to you. Unlike yahoo etc... google only shows a small portion of backlinks but I noticed a nice increase today. I also noticed some other changes so google has been very active.
If you are using google sitemaps you might want to check the new tools google added in there which are showing the activity level of googlebot on your sites. You can even tell googlebot to slow things down to decrease the load on your server
