The srt-4's are fast cars with little money put into them. Stock with a good driver they run 13.5's but you will see alot of drivers in the 14's. However for a little over 3k they can get the s3 package which can put the car in the 12's.

Only race i ever lost in my m3 was to a SRT -4 or 6, i dont know the models, but it was a dodge neon, i talked to the guy at the third light, he had a bunch of mods, those fucking things are quick man. I needed new tires before i raced, but even with new tires, I think he would of just beat me.

they're very pretty damn fast stock. and they really don't take much money to be faster. they do lose alot in the traction department though. since they are fwd, and the 03 and 04 models did not come with a good limited slip. the 05 model does come from the factory with a nice lsd in it though.

i would want a good long look under his hood though before i bet any money on you beating him. since they are extremely light, and have very buildable engines, even a few minor and relatively cheap performance parts can get them into 12's easily.

that being said, most srt-4 drivers cannot drive to save their fucking lives.

but, you're never gonna know for sure unless you try.

the turbos alone would be more then that.

then the work involved. you are talking about rerouting your entire exhaust.

you understand how a turbo works right?

the amount of scratch youll drop into turboin your car would defently not be worth it.

now.. a couple shots of the juice.. that would put you up there with that -4... but thats hell on that engine. pretty sure thats an aluminum bottom end right?

youd need to totaly rebuild the top end to handle it.. well not totaly.. but alot of the shit would need some bulletproof action

rings, pistons, rods.. all that to start.

just come to terms with the fact that dudes got you and thats that.. i mean if youve got a fast car (and what you got in hp? like 300 or so? honestly.. im my book that is not fast.. but we dont see eye to eye on alot of things) then be happy with the people you are faster then and thats that.

gotta understand.. lots of people are faster then you.. TONS of people are faster then you..

Not to mention, that about a year ago, I got RAPED RAPED RAPED by a Vtech civic that looked stock as shit. No big coffee can exhaust. No loud motor. No fancy rims and tires. No neon undercarriage lights. Fucking thing looked like a grandma car.

He fucking owned my ass...three times. I went home and waxed my car then cried myself to sleep.

(not that one, but same car.. 79 4 door dodge aspen)

hes got a viper engine in it.

all the gauges are under the wheel.. you cant see them..

0 tint hes got 3 inch exhaust that goes all the way to the back, and stop under the bumper where you cant see them.. he has a reg exhaust pipe sticking out..

its stripped down to pretty much nothing.. its that engine and your ass pretty much.

and ofcourse would eat all the gear heads in this thread with out hittin 4th gear.

youd never see him commin and would put your pinkslip up at a redlight in a heart beat.

you know you would.

and you would get beat.

so.. in a nutshell.. listen to nick.. listen to me.. accept the fact that tons of people will smoke your car.. as honestly 300 hp isnt that fast.

i drove a 800 hp supra in fl not 2 years ago, and that guys dumped another 10k in that since last i rode with him.

and his supra looks stock like a champ..

i know plenty of people who have turbo charged their cars. it didn't cost near that much.

for 15k i could get a stage 3 built short block, a turbo kit, turbo back exhaust, racing seats, labor, and a couple cases of beer.



that is a gt37r tubo kit for an evo. includes your turbo manifold and o2 housing. it costs $3,695. and that is a large turbo. you can smaller kits for even less. granted that particular kit doesn't include the intercooler, but those are only 300 - 700 dollars depending on which type you buy.

actually when he mentioned turboing it i went and started checking out ls1 kits. good single turbo kits for his car cost about as much as the kit for my car.

it doesn't make any bit of difference wether you are turbo charging and 8cyl, 4cyl, or any other number of cylinders. the only difference in the kit is the actual plumbing for it. turbo manifold, exhaust housing, and intercooler pipes. you can use the exact same turbo charger and housing for any car, and that is the exspensive part of a turbo kit. it's all just a matter of getting the right pipes to fit it.

for example, here is a twin turbo kit for a vette.

costs a bit under 8 grand.

as for instalation it's not really that complex. i helped my buddy turbo his lancer not too long ago, and know lots of people that have done it themselves. it is time consuming, and tedious, but not really that hard.

The point of my CAR is it's a daily driver that can roast 90% on the road


As is I can dust 100% of the honda civics with a Exhaust and a wing. The point is those that acutally tuned the cars. Bigger turbos/engine rebuilds.

I had a 2000 WS6 T/A six speed stock on a 70 degree day pull a 12.9 they really make around 380 390 hp thennnn 300 320 at the wheels!! i did the heads an cam only with headers and complete flowmaster exaust an got 12.00 while spinning the wheels at half track...your SS believe it or not is lighter than its pontiac counter part! now i know a rich lil bastard with a srt-4 has almost 10gs in it an running in the 12s so its not unlikely hes full of shit but when you actually see the car and hear it you will never know alot of assholes put a k/n filter on an think its a whole lot faster than what it is or they beat a SS or WS6 cause the guy just dont know how to drive an think oh man i beat one so i can beat em all

Until you race them, I think you are both blowing smoke up each others asses.

Given the HP/weight, variable driver skills, and just pure chance I don't think either car is the hands-down favorite, especially if you don't know if the SRT4 is bone stock or not.

Just take them to the track, video the results and post back here!!
